Press the shutter button halfway down.
If the LED next to the optical viewfinder lights solid
green, the shot is in focus.
If the LED next to the optical viewfinder is blinking
red and the camera beeps twice (if beeps are
enabled), the shot is either not in focus or the
lighting conditions are inadequate. The camera
may be too close to the subject. Press the Macro
enable button (top of camera) to set the lens to
Macro, then take your photo.

Press the Macro mode enable button on the top of the
camera for subjects that are from 1.5 to 18 in.
