    About this Product Introduction The RIA-1 Radio Interface Adapter is a hub for the Hi-5 ecosystem. It is capable of functioning as a radio receiver, transmitter, or motor controller. The RIA-1 is a high versatile component of the Hi-5 ecosystem. It is compact and robust, and supports ARRI's exchangeable radio modules.

    Risk of serious injury and/or damage to any connected products. Use only ARRI-recommended cables and power supply solutions. A list of supported cables can be found in the RIA-1 User Manual and on the ARRI website. Do not supply power outside the specified voltage range.
  • Page 19 ARRI, as they may damage any connected products and invalidate the warranty. ATTENTION The RIA-1 accepts an input voltage range from DC 10.5 to 34 V DC and can be powered through the CAM or LBUS connector. To properly support cforce motors however the RIA-1 requires a voltage of at least 12V.

    Switch On the RIA-1 Mount the RIA-1. Mount the RIA-1 on the camera, by using the RIA-1 bracket or an L-Bracket. Best radio connectivity is ensured when the RIA-1 is mounted in such a way, that the antenna is pointing upward. To allow short cable paths, connector slots should point towards the lens.

    Menu Operation The ROTARY ENCODER is used to navigate through the menu: Press the ROTARY ENCODER on the RIA-1 to access the menu. Rotate the ROTARY ENCODER to scroll up or down trough the menu. Press the ROTARY ENCODER to select a certain menu entry.

    RIA-1, damage highly polished surfaces. Do not moisten connectors when cleaning the RIA-1. During cleaning of the RIA-1, always make sure that the protective RF-Cover is on the radio module interface. Compressed air should not be used on the RIA-1.

    Cleaning Information Area Cleaning Procedure RIA-1 body Clean the RIA-1 body with a soft, lint free cleaning cloth and some water. Only when really necessary, e.g. to remove resid- uals of tape, isopropyl alcohol should be used. Narrow spaces, Use a manual air blower, cotton swabs or a soft brush to re- gaps, connectors move dust particles from narrow spaces, gaps or connectors.

    Follow the specified environmental conditions. Only transport the camera and accessories in suitable cases. Follow the instructions for transport and storage in this chapter. The RIA-1 can be damaged if not transported and stored properly. Please take note of the following guidelines. Transportation Guidelines: Disconnect all cables and power sources from the RIA-1.
  • Page 25 Always store the RIA-1 in a suitable case. Do not store the RIA-1 outside of the specified ambient temperature range. Do not store the RIA-1 in places where it may be subject to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, high humidity, severe vibration, dust or strong magnetic fields.

    Disposal Disposal ATTENTION The product can be returned to the manufacturer. When disposing of accessories, please observe the relevant manufacturer's instructions.
