Transmission Connector 1-4 Power Requirements The GG-H16 operates on the general vehicle power (12V DC/24V DC) or four AA Ni-MH batteries (1600mAH/2000mAH@ 1.2V DC). Please follow the sign “ LOCK” on the back cover and rotate the knob counterclockwise to remove the back cover. Then install batteries according to polarity of (+) and (-) of battery.

2-3 Operation of Pages All functions of the GG-H16 can be classified as five major pages as follows: Satellite Page Menu Page Trip Gauge Page Map Page Navigation Page l Satellite Page: To provide the satellite related information. l Menu Page: To provide system setting and data editing functions.

2-3-2-2 Position Mark If you want to mark the current position and increase a database of waypoints, select Mark icon on Menu Page to activate Mark Page. 2-3-2-3 Waypoint Management l Waypoint Page provides functions to browse, create, delete, edit, and store waypoints. You can activate Waypoint Page on Menu page. Using the UP and DOWN key to select the range buttons (0...9, A...Z) to assign the name range of waypoints to be browsed. Press the ENTER key to execute classification, the screen will only list waypoints that conform to the range.
2-3-2-4 Route Management l Routes can be consisted of the related waypoints as the basis of navigation. Route Page provides functions to browse, create, delete, modify and save routes. Route Page can be accessed on Menu Page. The UP and DOWN key can be used to select a route and view its detail on the columns below the page: l Route Capacity: 100.

2-3-2-8 Clear Memory Icon of Clear Memory is selected on Menu Page to clear memory and return to the factory value. Data for waypoints, routes and tracks will be cleared together. We recommend to backup data to PC hard disk first by using the Navigation Data Utility (GGH16SYN.EXE) before using this function.

2-3-2-11 Track Track Page can be accessed on Menu Page. System will follow time and distance set on Setup Page to record the track in circulation and display the current track. The current track is saved RAM and will get lost after power off.

l All routes will be listed when Command Menu executes “ Goto RTE”. The UP/DOWN key is used to select a route, which navigation of the route can be executed after the ENTER key is entered. l Taking left figure as an example, the current direction is 3 degree, speed is 1 KMH, the target direction is 90 degree, and the direction of navigation shall be modified to the right of 87 degree.
2-3-5 Map Page The Main Menu key in the upper right corner of the screen can pull down the Main Menu Page to select “ Map” or Command Menu in Navigation Page can select “ Map Navigation”, which can enter Map Page.

l In browse mode, pressing the ENTER key will display Command Menu, which provides the following functions: ² Map NAV: switch Map page to navigation mode. ² Mark: The current position browsed is marked as a new waypoint. ² Locate WPT: To move the position browsed to waypoint selected.
2-3-5-2 Map Navigation l When starting navigation, Map Page will be in navigation mode. A red arrow in the center of the screen indicates your current location and direction in progress. If a goal waypoint or route has been set, they will be displayed together.

An example in the left is set as route navigation. The final destination of waypoint is W0101350 and next waypoint of the goal is TFAC. The map orientation is north up with map scale in 100 m. Map page in navigation mode will display the latest position and time fixed or a question mark if the unit cannot resolve your current location.
Data Utility (GGH16SYN.EXE), which can support Windows 98/ME/2000/XP operating system. 3-1 Firmware Map Utility The GG-H16 provides with 32MB memory of map data and 2MB memory of firmware. You can use GGH16LD to perform update for firmware and map data. Data files are formed as follows:...
(1) PC interface cable with car cigarette lighter adapter is used to connect with the GG-H16. (2) The POWER key on the GG-H16 is pressed to enter system and then PC Link is selected after the MENU is pressed to shift to Menu Page. The screen will display “ PC Link” at this time.
Appendix A Failure and Troubleshooting l Unable to Locate All the Time Ø To check the part of antenna whether it is covered or not. Ø The unit shall be faced directly to sky and keep an included angle of 0-30 with a horizontal plane.

WARRANTY FAC warrants its products to be free from defects in material and workmanship for one year from the date of invoice (hereinafter called “ warranty period”). If a product proves to be defective in material or workmanship during the warranty period, FAC will, at its sole option, repair or replace the product with a same or similar product.
