This quick start guide includes instructions on connecting and using Bonzai
with Windows and Macintosh computers. You may also want to consult your
computer's user manual to determine if there are any additional instructions
related to the installation and use of USB devices.

Windows 98SE Go to www.simpletech.com/support and download the Windows 98SE driver for Bonzai to your local computer. To install the driver, double-click on the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. When installation completes, restart your computer. - Page 3 NSTALLING IGITAL Bonzai supports Secure Digital (SD), miniSD, MultiMediaCard (MMC) and RS-MMC digital media cards. To use miniSD and RS-MMC digital media cards with Bonzai requires a card adapter. Bonzai drives sold with miniSD or RS-MMC cards include the appropriate adapter. Open the card slot cover.
- Page 4 If you are running Windows 98SE, install the Windows 98 driver before connecting Bonzai to your computer. SimpleTech recommends that you avoid using the USB port on Macintosh computer keyboards. This port may not have enough power to adequately support the USB 2.0 interface.
- Page 5 ORMATTING ONZAI The optional digital media card included with selected Bonzai models is formatted at the factory as a FAT volume—allowing you to format the drive and access data using standard Windows and Mac OS tools. For instructions on formatting drives, refer to the documentation provided with your computer’s operating system.
- Page 6 ISCONNECTING Rapidly and repeatedly inserting and removing a USB device may stop the USB port from responding. Once the port is in this state, it will no longer recognize any USB device. While the computer is powered on, it is recommended that you stop the Bonzai drive from running before unplugging it from your computer.
