Ring pins (referred to as hitch pins in the manual) are used to secure the tines onto the tine shaft of the MasterForce CUB401. They are inserted into holes to lock the tines in place during assembly.

@Stela Adam Thank you! However, I was referring to item 10 on page 12, which is called ``ring pin''. We received two of those; they are stiff and useless, which probably indicates a mistake.
