STAR™ 3000 / eNode3000 User Manual 1 Welcome to the STAR System The Mojix STAR 3000 system is a single network element at the enterprise edge. Based on Mojix's innovative distributed architecture, a single system consists of one or more STAR units managing up to 512 low-cost Mojix eNode transmitters.
Each individually controlled interrogation space is created by the deployment of single or multiple eNodes and is dynamically sized by the STAR system, which controls each node’s power output. Mojix Incorporated Page 2 www.mojix.com (877) 886-6549...
(MCON) receives motion detection notification events triggered by the eNode. The STAR Master Controller is a dedicated Linux server, a Mojix software program called Deployment Controller, and a mySQL relational database that is used to store STAR System information and tag data. The Master...

The STAR Receiver utilizes classical, fully active, phased array antennas for enabling visibility into the space dimension. The smart array approach adopted by Mojix is fully based on digital processing techniques – thereby providing very high resolution for estimation of direction of arrival of the signal of interest (SOI) which enables the system to provide accurate location information on the tag position.

STAR™ 3000 / eNode3000 User Manual 5 eNode Installation The Mojix eNodes (exciter Nodes) are the building blocks of the Mojix STAR system – defining multiple RFID coverage areas and interrogation zones configured to support each unique business process. Mojix provides a full range of eNode models, from wired to wireless, that are certified in multiple regions and across multiple frequency bands.

The GPIO unit is powered by an interfacing cable from the eNode. The GPIO unit (as shown in the figure below) has a unique ID which is added to the configuration of the Mojix MCON software. Each sensor connected to the GPIO unit has a position ID within the GPIO and this ID is mapped to the eNode in the MCON software.

The eNode uses an RS-485 type connection to both power and command the GPIO unit. The following figure illustrates how this connection is made. STAR™ 3000 / eNode3000 User Manual 9 Master Controller Installation The Mojix Master Controller (MCON) is an application server capable of running on a number of platforms to support the Mojix STAR system. The MCON is built on a scalable architecture that allows seamless coordination and aggregation of an entire network of distributed STAR systems across one or multiple facilities.
Table 9: MCON Server Specification Alternatively, the MCON is also offered as a virtual machine that satisfies the same configuration as the two hardware platforms. These specifications are detailed in the following table. Mojix Incorporated Page 30 www.mojix.com (877) 886-6549...
9.1 Redundancy Summary The Mojix solution includes a robust redundancy capability within the hardware components of the Master Controller (MCON) as well as for automatic failover redundancy of an entire MCON system to another. These redundancy options are only offered on the Enterprise Class Server hardware.
Once the MCON hardware is mounted and secured, and prior to issuing power to the unit, connect a network cable to the eth0 port as identified in the figure below. The next step is to power on the unit. Figure 24: Identification of Network Interfaces Mojix Incorporated Page 32 www.mojix.com (877) 886-6549...
