Where are the black hinges on the lid? How do I take the lid completely off?

To completely remove the lid of the Chefman RJ16-LOCK:

1. Open the lid.
2. Use your thumbs to pull the inner hinge wide enough.
3. Pull apart the black hinges.
4. Lift off the lid.

The black hinges are located at the connection points between the lid and the main body of the hot water pot.
