Intended Use

The device is determined for measuring the human body temperature in the mouth (oral), the armpit (axillary) or the anus (rectal).

Product Description

Digital Thermometer
Electronic Digital Thermometer can quickly measure body temperature accurately.
Compared with the traditional glass mercury thermometer, it has advantages of easy reading, quick response, secure and accurate measurement.

Special Safety Notes

  • High and persistent fever, in particular in children, has to be treated by a doctor. Please get in touch with your doctor!
  • This device has been designed for private use only for the purpose provided.
  • The thermometer contains small parts (battery, battery compartment) which can be swallowed by children. For this reason, do not leave the thermometer unattended in the hands of children.
  • For reasons of hygiene, we recommend to use the device either exclusively in the mouth, the armpit or the anus.
  • If users suffer skin infection, prohibit to use.
  • Do not use it with other people before sterilizing, which is to avoid cross infection.
  • Do not clean with thinners, petrol or benzene. Only clean with disinfectant.
  • If the ambient temperature is over 35°C or 95°F, dip the thermometer tip in cold water for approx. 5 to 10 seconds prior to measuring the temperature.
  • Do not immerse the device in liquids, do not chew on it and do not bend it.
  • Avoid saliva from getting in touch with the display.
  • Take care, do not let the device fall down and avoid heavy impacts. It is neither shock-proof nor impact-resistant.
  • Do not use near strong electromagnetic fields, i.e. keep it away from any radio systems and mobile phones.
  • Do not warm up the battery or throws it to the fire.
  • It's not allowed to disassemble the thermometer except replacing the battery. Do not modify this device without authorization of manufacturer.

Instructions for Use

Putting in the Batteries

The battery provided is a long-life alkaline manganese battery cell.

  • Pull off the cap of the battery compartment.
  • Replace the cell by a battery of the same type. Take care of the correct polarity.
  • Close the battery compartment.

The battery symbol on the display indicates that the battery should be replaced.

Attention: Batteries do not belong in your usual household rubbish. Please dispose of old batteries at proper collecting points or at the competent dealer. Never throw batteries in fire.

Switching the Indication Fahrenheit and Celsius

  • Turn the unit on by pressing the On-/Off-button.
  • Press and hold the On-/Off-button for a few seconds.
  • The display switches to the respective other display.

Measuring Instructions

  • Press the On-/Off-button. After a short time the display will show LO and a flashing °C or °F.
  • Please stand, sit or lie still and start with the measuring.
  • With oral measuring, take the sensor of the device in the mouth and hold it closed. The normal temperature is 37.0°C/98.6°F
  • Do you want to measure in the armpits, clip the sensor under the armpit. The normal temperature is 36.5°C/97.7°F.
  • If you use the thermometer rectally, apply a bit of a water-soluble cream e.g. Vaseline to the sensor tip. Insert it carefully by max. 2 cm. The normal temperature is 37.5°C/99.5°F. From a medical point of view this is the most accurate method of measurement.
  • Recommended measure time:
    In the rectal: the usual measuring time is approximately 40 to 60 seconds.
    Under the arm: the usual measuring time is approximately 80 to 120 seconds.
    In the mouth: the usual measuring time is approximately 50 to 70 seconds.
  • If the temperature is too high HI °C or HI °F indicates. Is the measuring to low LO °C or LO °F indicates.
  • After approx. 8 minutes or by pressing the On-/Off-button, the device off automatically.
  • If you switch the device on again, it will always show the last measured temperature (memory function).

Maintenance and Storage

  • We recommend to use a dump cloth and disinfectant to clean the sensor.
  • Do not immerse the device in liquids.
  • Do not use benzene or strong cleaning agents.
  • If the measuring device is not used for a longer time, the battery should be removed (leaking batteries may damage the device).
  • Protect the device from direct sunlight, high temperatures, humidity and dust.
  • Do not expose to extremely low (below -20°C/-4°F) or high (above 60°C/140°F) temperature.
  • Clean the clinical thermometer after each use and store it in the provided case.

Calibration Check

This thermometer is initially calibrated at the time of manufacture. If this thermometer is used according to the operation instruction, periodic re-adjustment is not required. The calibration check has to be carried out immediately, if there are indications that the product does not keep the defined error limits or the calibration properties could have been affected by an intervention or by any other means. Please also observe any national statutory regulations. The calibration check can be carried out by the competent authorities or by authorized service providers. A test instruction for calibration check can be provided to the relevant authorities and authorized.
