  • Page 4 INTRODUCTION The MouseMonitor is a compact heated surgical platform that displays ECG, respiration and plethysmogram waveforms as well as heart rate, breath rate, core temperature and SpO2. The unique integrated operating platform supports magnetic accessories and incorporates ultra-low noise, high-resolution ECG electronics and intelligent zone heating with a durable surgical stain- less steel top.

DATA CONNECTION The MouseMonitor heated surgical platform connects to the MouseMonitor Display Unit with a custom USB cable.

  • Page 13 SETTINGS - STUDY - PRESETS Presets - Multiple researchers can save their preferred settings as a preset profi le for easy re- trieval at a later date. This way multiple researchers can share a single MouseMonitor and each researcher can have their preferred setup.

  • Page 17 SETTINGS - COMMENTS The comments tab allows you to store 7 custom pre-defi ned comments that you can quickly place during experiments. There is also a custom comment option that can be entered during the ex- periment with any comment text. Comments are placed when OK is pressed from inside the comment menu and can be viewed when the saved recordings are opened.

  • Page 25 SETTINGS - RESPIRATION - ADVANCED Disable Respiration - Allows you to turn off the Impedance Pneumography injected current signal. Transmit Raw Data - Allows you to view/record the unprocessed respiration signal. Analog Ground: This allows you to connect the power supply ground to different sources. The factory setting is to connect the analog ground to isolated ground, this typically provides the best performance in most environments.
  • Page 26 SETTINGS - HOMEOTHERMIC HEATER Heater Settings: Touch (+) or (-) to adjust temperature. Maximum temperature setting is 42°C. You can disable the heater if your experiment requires this or you’re working with larger animals and don’t require heat.

  • Page 33 SETTING UP WI-FI Touch the APPS icon. Then swipe to the second screen, and touch the SETTINGS icon, the WIRELESS & NETWORKS icon, Wi-Fi SETTINGS, and then Wi-Fi, if not turned on. The device scans for and displays all available Wi-Fi networks. Touch the Wi-Fi network you want to connect to.
  • Page 34 External environmental conditions such as room temperature and drafts from air conditioners or fans can have an impact on the MouseMonitor control system and it may not be able to attain the desired temperature. If the actual temperature is consistently a degree or more below the set temperature this is a good indication that there is a large amount of heat loss (pos- sibly because of an air draft).
