This confirmation prevents activating the Auto Setup feature in error. Auto Setup interrogates all (four) channel inputs and sets the amplitude scale for appropriate viewing.

Vertical cursors measure time and Y value at the cursor, Horizontal cursors measure amplitudes manually and crosshair cursors measure both time and amplitude.

This is a technique whereby a complete trace is built up by sampling a number of acquisitions at various times relative to the trigger point.
