1. GET TO KNOW THE BASICS...
Thank you for purchasing Saitek's new R100 USB Sports Wheel! For those of you who
have never connected a steering wheel to your PC before, you're about to find out that no
other game controller can simulate the driving experi-
ence as well as a steering wheel/pedal combination. It's
simply the perfect way to become part of the fast, furious
world of racing, and your games will never seem the
same again! As shown under Features and Controls, the
R100 boasts 2 fire buttons and 2 gearshift paddles,
conveniently located on the wheel for easy access. Also
offering USB port compatibility, this wheel has so many
options! Ergonomically styled, with a wide 160-degree
turning angle and 3 spokes for smooth steering, the R100 also features a sturdy clamping
system that will attach the steering wheel unit snugly to desks or tables from 0.5 to 2
inches (13 to 50 mm) thick. In addition, connecting the foot pedal unit provides you with
gas and brake pedals, making your driving experience even more fun and so much more
realistic!
2. ...AND THEN INSTALL THE SOFTWARE!
After setting up your R100 Wheel as described at the front of this manual, you'll need to
install the software. Simply follow the steps below.
Installing the R100 Wheel on Windows
1. With your computer switched on and all applications shut down, plug the Saitek R100
Wheel into one of your computer's USB ports.
2. When the Add New Hardware Wizard appears, click Next and follow the on-screen
instructions.
3. When prompted, select Search for the best driver for your device
(Recommended) , and click on Next.
4. At the following screen, select the CD-ROM drive option, insert your Windows
(SE) CD, and click on Next.
5. Continue to follow the on-screen instructions until the installation is complete; then
click on Finish and remove your CD.
6. To test that your R100 Wheel is functioning correctly, click on Start on the Windows
Taskbar and then select Settings and Control Panel .
7. In Control Panel , double-click the Game Controllers icon. Then, in the Game Con-
trollers window, select R100 Wheel.
8. Next, click on Properties to open the Game Controller Properties window. Click on
the Test tab and try out the buttons and controls of your new wheel.
9. After testing your wheel, click OK twice to finish. Now it's time to load your favorite
game and enjoy the fun!
Installing the R100 Wheel on Windows
1. With your computer switched on and all applications shut down, plug the Saitek R100
Wheel into one of your computer's USB ports.
2. Your computer will automatically detect and load the drivers for your new wheel.
3. To test that your R100 Wheel is functioning correctly, click on Start on the Windows
Taskbar and then select Settings and Control Panel .
4. In Control Panel , double-click the Gaming Options icon. Then, in the Gaming
Options window select R100 Wheel.
5. Next, click on Properties to open the Gaming Options Properties window. Click on
the Test tab and try out the buttons and controls of your new wheel.
