2 Safety LB 8110 Shield Ambient conditions during operation and storage The shield was specifically designed for use in rough ambient conditions. The LB 8110 shield is intended as shield/protective container for radioactive rod sources and may only be used for this purpose. The radioactive substance is contained in a leak-proof welded source capsule and installed in the LB 8110 shield. Apart from source and shield, additional system components such as detectors and evaluation units are required for a complete measuring system. -

4 Installation LB 8110 Shield Installation of the shield To avoid unnecessary exposure to radiation, install the shield as final system component. The shield is placed on a mounting base at the measuring point and fixed. The shield on the container is secured against tilting by means of a tipping protection. -

An increased exposure to radiation may lead to damage to health.
