Push the cap (5) tab where it says (UP) and take off the cap. Press the ON/OFF switch (1).

The reading can be stored until the next measurement by pressing the memory button (2). Pressing the button again deletes the reading.
To get a correct reading of the inside of the wood, split it and measure the interior surface. Take readings at 3 places to get an average. The meter can be used on all wood surfaces.

The test pins (7) are very sharp. Risk of injury! Keep the meter away from children! Never direct the test pins at people or animals!
Note:

Do not put batteries in household waste!
Per European Guideline 2002/96/EG on old electrical and electronic devices, 2006/66/EG on batteries and old batteries, and the national legislation based on them, old electric tools and batteries must be collected separately for environmentally appropriate recycling.
Protect the meter from moisture, and store it in a dry place. Wipe off any dirt with a damp cloth.
If necessary, remove the protective film on the display (3).
If necessary, replace the test pins (9). To do so, use a suitable tool to remove the old pins by turning them counterclockwise. Replacement test pins are available under order number 988 050 517.
