Spirent VisionWorks 7528 Probe Installation and Setup Manual Issue 3 • You want to provision the unit over Ethernet instead of async, by connecting to the default address. -and- • Static configuration of a corresponding, routable address on the local PC interface is either impractical or impossible.
Installation and Setup Manual Issue 3 Spirent VisionWorks 7528 Probe Assuming the management network has a DHCP server, you can also connect the PC to that network if you want to resume a session with a unit at its new address. Typically, the management address configuration is a final provisioning step and the reconnection is a simple verification that you can still connect to the unit.
Spirent VisionWorks 7528 Probe Installation and Setup Manual Issue 3 No reboot is required after a static date assignment. Network time protocol (NTP) NOTE: The unit must be rebooted after setting it to use NTP. The unit supports NTP (Network Time Protocol), a very accurate protocol that allows the time to be set with an accuracy of 10 milliseconds or less.
