By connecting drum pads or drum triggers, an artificial drum sound is simulated in various forms and optionally played back via headphones or external speakers. The device may only be operated for this purpose and in accordance with the operating instructions.

ENGLISH 1. Main Features / Introduction Thank you for choosing a FAME Hybrid PRO sound module. You have made the right choice. Your new instrument offers you first-class sound quality and maximum flexibility. The FAME Hybrid PRO sound module has an open sound architecture and offers you 12 independent trigger channels, 4 audio outputs and 4 GB sound memory. - Page 8 The FAME Hybrid PRO sound module provides you with 4 GB of sound storage with 100 memory locations, 40 of which are empty, i.e. user kits. With the FAME Hybrid PRO all kits are pre- configured from the factory and can still be changed and saved according to your wishes. Of course you can also rename and re-sort the kits, which makes them easier to access and handle on stage.

ENGLISH 2. Basic Know-How 2.1 Operation The operation of the module is simply structured and is done intuitively via 5 menu items (MIXER- UNIT/PROGRAM/CHANNEL/SOUND/SPECIAL) with various sub-pages. These sub-pages can be selected in sequence by pressing the PAGE UP or PAGE DOWN buttons respectively. There are no second levels and no hidden menu items. -

2.3 Drag & Drop (USB Modus) If you connect the FAME Hybrid PRO to your computer (PC or Mac) via USB and start it in USB mode, it will be recognised and displayed as a "normal" memory drive. The module now behaves exactly like an external USB hard drive or card reader. - Page 11 ENGLISH Fame Hybrid Pro module, it is recommended not to use long folder names and not to create too many layers for the sake of clarity. On the main level you will find the following files: HybridPro-Pad_set.dkit: User KIT Bank; your personal KIT and UNIT settings are stored in this file.

OUT 1 to 4 Connect the input of your mixing console or amplifier to the FAME Hybrid PRO. The outputs OUT1 and 2 are factory set to reproduce the complete mix signal as a stereo sum. Outputs OUT 3 and OUT 4, however, contain the respective BUS signal. - Page 14 LINE IN: Connect an external sound source here. You can use a stereo cable (e.g. from your smartphone) or a mono cable if you want to hear a live monitor signal via the FAME Hybrid PRO. If you connect a mono cable, the audio signal only sounds "centred" if you select "Mono" in the MIXER- UNIT menu on the OUT page.

ENGLISH 4. Control Elements MODE With Mode you scroll through the different modes, the selected mode is indicated by LED. TRIG Press the TRIG button to hear the sound of the selected channel. MORE You need the MORE button for additional functions and operating steps (e.g. UNDO/REDO. With the aid of the MORE button, you can, for example, call up the last visited edit page in the menu. - Page 16 LEVEL control in the menu, so that your signal is always output with fixed amplification. Display The display of the FAME Hybrid PRO can show up to 6 parameters. Usually these are three below the DATA buttons and three above the DATA knob. The name of the parameter is in the upper row (see example: SOUND, LAYER, VOICE, ATTACK, HOLD, DECAY) and the value to be edited is below (see example: ATTACK = .003).

Page 17: Hi-Hat Setup & Calibration
These instructions are valid for off-brand hi-hat pads and fine tuning: The hi-hat is the most complex instrument in a drum setup. The FAME Hybrid PRO offers you the greatest possible flexibility to use as many hi-hat pads and controllers as possible from different manufacturers. - Page 18 ENGLISH Press the left DATA button a second time. The symbol of an open hi-hat appears and flashes. Now open the hi-hat pad and take your foot off the pedal accordingly. Press the left DATA button a third time to complete the calibration. The display shows "done".

You can invest a little time in these settings. You will be amazed how natural the playing behaviour of the FAME Hybrid PRO module will be afterwards. HCAL: Make the settings adjustments for your hi-hat here and calibrate the pad. A detailed explanation can be found in this manual. - Page 20 ENGLISH Programme Menu PROG: On the programme start page you select the desired kit and can start the internal metronome or song player accordingly. EQ: A 3-band EQ is available per kit. This can be used for all instruments or just one channel. ACMP: On the internal player page, you can select whether you want to play to a playback song or a metronome.

ENGLISH 7. Saving Any changes you make to the module can of course be saved. Important: Please first activate the memory function in the MIXER-UNIT-PREF menu once. Switch the function to "on" by pressing the left DATA button. Save a kit If you have made changes to a programme page and want to keep them permanently, you must save the modified kit. - Page 22 ENGLISH You can choose between upper and lower case letters, numbers and various special characters. You can select the desired letter with the knob (KEY flashes) or insert a space by pressing the knob while holding down the MORE key. Press the knob without holding down the MORE key to switch to the CUR parameter.

For example, if a hard cymbal beat triggers a tom sound, you can suppress the latter. To do this, select the channel that sounds unwanted (in our case: Tom) and change the XTALK value. The following parameter values are available: Off (function off), Low (low suppression), Med (medium suppression), High (maximum suppression).

CALIB: In this menu you can calibrate the hi-hat, i.e. adapt it to your playing style. Due to the importance of this topic we have dedicated an extra chapter to it. -

ENGLISH 8.4 HSET HHPOS: With this value you can set the opening position of the hi-hat. This setting affects all kits. If you change this value, the HH controller loses its function globally. This function is useful if you do not have a hi-hat controller and want a fixed opening position continuously. -

ENGLISH 8.6 INTF* On this page you configure the global routing and MIDI settings for each individual trigger channel. Here you determine to which BUS the respective signals should be routed and with which settings you can control the individual channels via MIDI. ZONES: Here you can see how many (sound) zones are assigned to the trigger channel. - Page 32 The hi-hat also generates a NOTE ON and NOTE OFF signal when zones 4 or 8 are activated. Parallel to this the Fame Hybrid Pro module also generates pedal control data. When you pedal the hi-hat (zone 9), initially only a NOTE-ON command is generated. ENGLISH 9. PROGRAM Menu In the PROGRAM menu area you can edit the internal programme memory locations. There are 100 factory preprogrammed kits (memory locations) available. Each kit is freely editable and can be saved again. In the PROGRAM menu, you specify the sounds and sound settings for each individual kit, adjust the metronome or playback functions and set the internal equalizer. - Page 40 ENGLISH Functions for kits with song: TIME: Shows you the played time of the song. If no song is selected, "-" appears in the display. (The knob has no function). PITCH: This function allows you to change the tempo of the song. A range between .50 and 1 is available.

ENGLISH Mix: The EQ settings are applied to the internal mixer. All drum channels are automatically routed through the EQ. Sub: The EQ settings are applied to the internal SUB Mix and automatically affect all drum channels present in the SUB Mix. Live Sound If you only want to frequency manipulate individual instruments in your kit, e.g. - Page 42 ENGLISH BAR: Here you can set the time signature for the metronome. A selection of the most important variations with different accentuations is available: 1/4, 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 5/4, 6/4, 7/4, 3/8, 5/8, 6/8, 7/8, 9/8 or 12/8. The 1/4 setting is ideal if you do not want the metronome to be accentuated. TEMPO: Here you can set the tempo.

ENGLISH 9.4 KFNC* On this PAGE you can set the degree of opening of the hi-hat. This setting only affects the set kit. If you change this value, the HH controller loses its function. This function is useful if, for example, a "half-open" hi-hat is required for double bass drum patterns. Values from 1 (fully opened hi-hat) to 31 (closed hi-hat) are available. -

ENGLISH 12. SPECIAL Menu The SPECIAL section of the menu allows you to fine-tune the sounds and set the functionality of the loops per channel. You can also assign a specific function to any pad here and you can globally adjust the panorama volume ratios. - Page 46 User Sounds With the FAME sound editor you can create individual sound files from your own samples. Regarding the parameter settings on this page, please note that for your own sounds with few layer levels (1-10 layers) the LAYER setting "FIX" should be selected, otherwise the behaviour of the sound will be unnatural.
