    Front Panel DSD 5000 The RCU sends a beam to the infra-red window. Do not block the path between RCU and STB. If an obstruction Infra-Red (IR) Receiver (eg. cabinet, TV) prevents the IR signals from the RCU, an window external IR RCU extender (optional accessory) is available.

    Remote Control Unit Navigation (NAV) Buttons RCU Navigation Buttons The terms NAVIGATE (NAV) or SELECT are used when referring to activities controlled by these four arrows and the OK button. The OK button is the same as SELECT / SAVE / AGREE. In some instances it is a shortcut button - for example to quickly see the available channels.

    First Time Installation First Time Installation Once the STB hardware has been connected correctly and booted, you will be required to complete the FIRST TIME INSTALLATION. This requires you to set your TV Resolution and your Time Zone, and scan for available channels. To view the STB on your TV, select the source input you connected your STB to.
  • Page 20 First Time Installation Step 2: Time Zone Similarly use the NAV buttons to determine your Australian Time Zone. Press OK button when the correct Time Zone is selected. Step 3: Select USB Storage Device If you have connected a recording device (hard disk drive externally attached), you have the option to select it during the FIRST TIME INSTALLATION.
  • Page 21 First Time Installation Once the search is complete, a window should appear informing you that the “Channel Search Finished” . The total number of TV and Radio channels you can access, will be dislayed at the bottom of the screen. Press OK button to close the FIRST TIME INSTALLATION menu.

    General Functions Parental Controls The Parental Control Rating enables you to block programs and recordings, according to the rating provided by the Broadcaster.     Installation Settings Dish Alignment Help While in the SATELLITE CHANNEL SEARCH press the HELP button on your RCU to open the DISH INSTALLATION MAP. This function presents you with a map of Australia. Use the NAV buttons to move the cursor to your current location, then press the OK button.

    Installation Settings Internet Setup To use the UEC STREAMING PORTAL, you’ll need to set up a wired network connection from your home router. See “Optional: Connect Set Top Box to the Internet” on page 18. The STB is set to acquire an IP address automatically (DHCP), which will also provide the other settings required to get access to the internet from your router.

Before performing a factory reset be aware all USER PREFERENCES, DATA and SETTINGS will be erased permanently (other than Parental Control Settings and LNB settings). Time Shift means your STB is always recording in the background of the broadcast that you are currently viewing. This allows you to PAUSE, REWIND, and RE- WATCH the live broadcast.

    RESET is required, all settings will return to their defaults, except for the LNB Settings and the PARENTAL CONTROL settings which will remain as they were before the reset. Please note that the parental control function may not be supported in the UEC STREAMING PORTAL.

    Scheduler Schedule a New Event While in the SCHEDULER you can set a new event by pressing the Green (2 from left) button. In this menu you can set: 1. An upcoming recording, 2. A channel change reminder, and 3. A banner reminder. Manual Recording When scheduling a new recording in the SCHEDULER you must select the Channel, Date, Start Time, and Total Duration (mins) of the program you wish to record.

    If the RCU LED Light lights up RED: Check that there are no obstructions between you and the STB, aim directly at the STB, and not the TV, and then try again. If problems persist, please contact the UEC Service Centre on: (07) 3015 8790.

    Digital Satellite Technology is rapidly evolving. As a result of this, it is not possible to predict what the requirements will be in a few years’ time.
