The TCV31 is a video conversion module for use with converting differential analog video pairs to a CAT-5 cable for distances up to 1000 feet. The TCV31 requires a 12VDC external power source (supplied). To convert the signals from the TCV31 module from CAT-5 to a standard component video signal, a RCV30 is needed.
RCA Input
Connect the Red, Blue and Green RCAs to the source component video outputs (Y, Pb, Pr).
12 VDC IN
Connect to an external DC power source (adapter included). The TCV31 ALWAYS has to be powered using an external power source.
Video Output 1 and 2
The TCV31 module provides two outputs to connect to RCV30 modules. Simply connect the output from the TCV31 to the Master Input on the RCV30. The total CAT-5 cable run cannot exceed 1000 feet. ALL TCV31 modules must each be individually powered and all RCV30 modules will be powered from the TCV31 up to 500 feet total. When using a distance over 500 feet total or when using the Slave Output feature on the RCV30, all modules including the TCV31 and all RCV30 must be individually powered.
CAT-5 cable allows differential video runs of up to 1000 feet. The TCV31 converts signals from RCA to RJ-45 and allows direct connection to RCV30 modules for use in converting the video signal back to RCA. The TCV31 allows both decora wall plate and stand alone box configuration. The diagram below shows the TCV31 connected from RCA to CAT-5 termination with the RCV30 from CAT-5 to RCA video conversion modules to the Zone C dedicated input on a CT Receiver.
The TCV31 modules must each be individually powered and all RCV30 modules will be powered from the TCV31 up to 500 feet total. When using a distance over 500 feet total or when using the Slave Output feature on the RCV30, all modules including the TCV31 and all RCV30 must be individually powered.
CAT-5 RJ45 pinouts use the T568B standard. See the figure at left. Each color twisted pair carries the differential component video signal with pin 7 and 8 sending power for up to 500 feet. Use of other CAT-5 connection standards may result in increased crosstalk between signals with associated audio and video degradation.
