2. Operation

2.1 Battery
The scale requires 2 1.5 V alkaline mikro AAA batteries. Before the kitchen scale is used
for the first time, they have to be inserted with the right polarity into the battery com-
partment situated underneath the scale. When „Lo" appears in the display, the batteries
need to be replaced.
Spent batteries and rechargeable batteries do not constitute normal household waste!
They are considered to be toxic waste and, as such, should be disposed of in special
containers, toxic waste collection points or brought to electrical goods dealers.
Note: Batteries containing pollutant substances are marked as follows: Pb = Battery
contains lead, Cd = Battery contains cadmium, Hg = Battery contains mercury.
Place the scale on a level and solid surface; this is important for ensuring that the scale
weighs correctly.
2.2 Weighing
Weights are displayed in 1g steps. Switch the scale on by pressing „On/Off/Tara". „
appears followed by „0 g", indicating that the scale is now ready for weighing.
Weighing without a bowl
Place the item to be weighed directly on the scale. The weight thereof is displayed immediately.
