NT-309 Smart Non-contact Voltage Tester
Operation Manual
Warning: Please read and understand all of the instructions
and safety information in this manual before operating the tester.
Failure to observe these precautions can result in injury and can
damage the instrument.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Alternating Voltage Detection
Press the power switch to turn on the instrument's power.
1.
2.
After you confirm that the instrument is operating normally,
using it to check whether an outlet and/or wire or cable is
energized.
3.
If the instrument detects alternating voltage, the red light in
probe will flash, the beeper will sound, and the relevant signal
intensity indicator (low, mid, high) will light up in accordance
with the signal intensity detected, and the buzzer makes the
different level sound.
If the instrument detects (low) AC signal, the signal intensity
indicator lamp will light up 2 indicators; if it detects higher AC
signal, the both of signal intensity indicator (low and mid) will
light up 4 indicators; if it detects highest AC signal, the all signal
intensity indicators (low, mid, high) will light up.
4.
When finished testing, remember to power off by pressing the
power switch again. This will extend the life of the batteries
powering the unit.
Warning
1) If the alternating voltage is detected, this indicates the presence of
voltage, even though there is no alarm indication. The presence of
voltage cannot be judged by the non-contact voltage tester. The
detecting operation may be affected by such factors as socket
design, insulation thickness and insulation type.
2)
Before the instrument is used for detecting the alternating voltage
of the power socket etc, the test pencil should be tested on a known
live circuit, to make sure that it will work well.

If the instrument is not operated or doesn't detect any alternating
voltage more than 3 minutes, it will turn off automatically.
Low voltage indicator lamp:
less than around 2.6V, the power indicator will flash three times for
alarm, and the buzzer will sound once before the instrument turns off
automatically. The battery should be replaced.
LED light: the LED light will light up when pressing the LED light
switch button and will turn off when the button is pressed again. If
this instrument stops operating after 5 minutes, the LED light will go
out automatically.
Battery Replacement:
1) Rotate the cover to open the battery compartment,
2) Take out the used batteries,
3) Replace new 2 x 1.5V AAA batteries as the anode and cathode
indication as shown on the case.
Warning: To avoid electric shock, do not use this instrument before
the battery cover is replaced
