  • Page 3 1 Foreword This User Manual describes the Microface Control System. It contains information concerning the architecture of the control system as well as the settings required to obtain the desired behaviour of the Unit. The Microface Control System has been especially developed to effectively manage all the individual functions of air conditioning units.
  • Page 4 2.3 Microface Board and Jumper setting In order to obtain the required functionality of the Microface controller acc. to the specific needs of your application it is required to configure the Microface board by an individual setting of jumpers during start-up of the unit Caution! Never add / remove Jumpers when Microface is under power! Jumpers:...
  • Page 5 2.4 LCD Display Module The interface module consists of a backlit LCD and of three push buttons that permit an easy access to the unit parameters. Writing access is protected by a password. Fig. 2-4-1 LCD Display and Buttons There are three LED’s: the yellow Led to indicate the unit is power supplied, the green one lights up when the unit is in operation and the red one signals either an alarm or a warning condition.

  • Page 7 2.5 Programming of the Microface controller All values and parameters will be entered or get displayed as shown in the example below. The LCD Display Module allows to enter and setup any parameters of the unit and displays any failure (warning or alarm) using individual codes. If no key gets stroked for a while the display will return to show the parameter P1 (first in list).
  • Page 8 To move fast forward or backward to the first or last parameter just press “up” or “down” and “Enter key (↵) at the same time. 3 Software / EPROM The EPROM is the device, which stores the software program the Microface has to work with.
  • Page 9 4 Humitemp sensor The Humitemp senor is a combined temperature- and humidity-sensor. If installed the Microface will use the values of the Humitemp sensor for all control operations. The Humitemp sensor is connected to the Microface board by the Hirobus-cable (max. length: 25 m). The Humitemp sensor is an air-sensor and only used for air-conditioning units.

  • Page 14 7 List of control-parameters Name of parameter Description Setting The temperature of the air entering the air conditioning unit. This temperature is measured by the Humitemp sensor installed inside the unit in the return air flow path. RETURN TEMPERATURE Actual value This temperature is used by Microface, together with “Room Temperature Setpoint”, “Temp.
  • Page 15 The parameter used by Microface to regulate the speed of the fan during NoPower operation when an Analogue Output of FANSPEED NO POWER Microface is used to drive the fan. The corresponding Analogue Output must be assigned to Fanspeed. These warnings are generated from the HIGH TEMPERATURE Standard return Sensor of each unit.
  • Page 16 The value the heater shall start later. Means HEATING DEADBAND the group of heaters is shifted with the deadband value to lower temperature. Actuators are motors, that drive either the freecooling damper or which drive chilled 3P. ACT. RUNTIME water or freecooling valves. This parameter is 170 sec.
  • Page 17 During dehum operation it could be necessary to reheat. If it is no problem for the EL. REAHEAT ENABLE power consumption, put this parameter to YES. If compressor and reheat may not operate at the same time, put it to NO. Defines the return air humidity value at which the dehumidification will be stopped.
  • Page 18 ANALOG OUTPUT 1 ANALOG OUTPUT 2 Stop unit first. Set parameter to YES. Unit will start the fan for 30 sec. and will wait 30 sec. AUTOSET AIRFLOW with fan off. after that the value will be set. If a warning appears, there was no reaction from the airflow sensor.
