XCS highly recommends that you never use P or D Taps directly from a battery or battery plate. When you do this, you are bypassing the sled Battery Management Systems incredible circuit protection which protects the sled, camera and accessories basically from you.

Page 4: Main Power
14/28 CAMERA POWER The camera power can be switched at any time into and out of 14V or 14/28 volt mode. The Ultimate 3HD will always run 14 volts to all 14 volt output whether or not you are in 14 volt mode or 14/28 volt mode as long as you have at least one 14V battery. -
Page 5: Set Display
MENU This pushbutton scrolls you through your user selectable MENU pages and you use the UP/DOWN push buttons to set the parameters for that MENU page. The selection is set when you let go of the up/down button and the selected setting is displayed on the LCD screen. -

The LO indicator LED will blink when the battery voltage drops below the user preset. 5) REGULATOR VOLTS The ULTIMATE 3HD has a selectable output volt setting for an internal power supply. It will output 3 amps between 4.5-12.5 volts selectable in 0.10 volt increments or OFF. Battery Management Error Codes/ Messages We have developed additional software to help inform you of power issues that may arise that the Battery Management System (BMS) is monitoring before the issue becomes a possible problem. - Page 11 This is a vestige of the LOCKED vs UNLOCKED MODE menus that are now removed. use 28V Battery POWER-UP FAILED At each power up during the XCS splash screen display, the integrity Code=09 Info=xx of each EEprom memory location is tested. If a cell is found to fail this test, this message is displayed for 30 seconds then operation attempts to return to normal operation.
