ASSEMBLY

• Using the provided allen wrench attach the top chute to the upper housing
with the two small allen screws and lock washers.
• Insert the driving gear and blade rack (#5) into the bearing journals. Note;
you have to insert the shaft portion of the blade rack into the hole on the
silver adapter piece before settling the blade rack into the bearing journal.
• Insert the driven gear and blade rack (#4) into the bearing journals. (you will
have to mesh the gear teeth on the driven gear (#4) with the teeth on the
driving gear (#5).
• Fit the upper housing (#2) onto the lower housing (#1) and line up the screw
holes.
• Insert a housing thumbscrew (#8) into each hole on the upper housing and
tighten to finger tight. ( Do not overtighten the thumbscrew.)
• Insert the left and right comb into the upper housing. Note that the left comb
is marked with an "L" and "R" to aid in comb installation.
DISSEMBLY AND CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
• Keep the children at a safe distance from machine while cleaning.
• Remove the thumbscrew (#9) from the handle (#3).
• Remove handle from the driving gear shaft (#5).
• Remove the combs (#6 and #7) from the upper housing by lifting up on
combs.
• Remove the upper housing (#2). Warning: this will expose the blade racks,
take care when handling the blade racks. Protective gloves are
recommended.
• Using the provided allen wrench remove the chute from the top housing.
• Remove the blade racks by lifting up on each end of the blade rack to
separate them from the lower housing (#1). Separate one blade rack at a
time. The blade racks may have a tendency to stick together. If this happens,
pull the blade racks apart by gripping the end of each shaft and pulling
apart.
• Wash all parts thoroughly with hot water and mild dishwashing liquid. A
long bristle brush is recommended for cleaning the blade assemblies. Take
extra care when handling the blade racks. Protective gloves are
recommended.
• Allow all parts to dry thoroughly before re-assembling.
