Product highlights

HDTV
HDTV delivers exceptional picture quality and real movie-
viewing experience that makes television more dynamic,
truer than anything you've seen before. It is the latest and
best television signal available. It features picture quality
more than twice that of traditional analog broadcasts. In
order to effectively maximize the HDTV signal, a
television must incorporate advanced signal input
connectivity and circuitry design. To use HDTV the TV
must be connected via its Component Video, DVI or
HDMI inputs to a DTV set-top box and set to operate in
the DTV mode.
Pixel Plus
This set uses the power of the Pixel Plus processor to
increase the number of lines and the number of pixels.
The result is razor sharp pictures with incredible detail
and dept, every time from any source.
3D Combfilter
The 3D comb filter separates brightness and color signals
better in 3D domain to eliminate cross-color, cross-
luminance and dot-crawl distortion - all of which detract
from your viewing pleasure. The 3D digital comb filter
performs field-by-field comparisons of the television
image to accurately separate the color from the black-
and-white information and remove both horizontally and
vertically hanging dots, as well as dot crawl. The result is
a razor sharp image.
Multi-Point Digital Converge
Transporting a projection TV may cause its three picture
tubes to become misaligned. This can result in noticeably
poorer picture quality and color bleeding. Multi-point
digital convergence allow you to use the remote control to
adjust picture convergence electronically at 35 points on
the TV's screen using the 'Convergence' section of the
Picture menu. This optimizes the picture from corner-to-
corner to minimize effects from natural or man-made
magnetic fields in the room where you locate your
projection TV. You always get the best possible picture.
Dolby Digital
Because Dolby Digital and DTS, the world's leading digital
multi-channel audio standards, make use of the way the
human ear naturally processes sound, you experience
superb quality surround sound audio with realistic spatial
cues.
HDMI input
HDMI makes an uncompressed digital RGB connection
from the source to the screen. By eliminating conversion
to an analog signal, it delivers an unblemished image. The
non-degraded signal reduces flicker and leads to a clearer
picture. HDMI intelligently communicates the highest
output resolution with the source device. The HDMI input
is fully backward compatible with DVI sources but
includes digital audio. HDMI uses HDCP copy protection.
Component Video Input (YPbPr)
Component Video is the highest quality interconnection
standard for analog video. It is sharper than S-video and
composite video. Philips DVD recorders can record
directly from component video (such as YPbPr) sources
including satellite receivers
