It allows you to control the opening and closing of the feed bin slide gates both manually and automatically. Each local Slide Gate Controller (FLX-5416) can be configured with a maximum of two slide gates that can be enabled or disabled.

    Chapter 2: Introduction Auto Mode Auto mode will automatically switch the open slide gate based on the proximity switch inputs. The user sets up a feed line, tying several actuators together, and the system will always keep one slide gate open if at least one of the proximity switches senses feed.

    Chapter 3: Configuration Nomenclature for LCD Displays Nomenclature for Automatic Slide Gate Site Controller (FLX-5419) The LCD display will show the status in a shortened format, so you need to understand the nomenclature. The LCD display will show this status format: (S Node ID. Slide#. Feedline. Open or Closed). The display will continuously scroll through the status of all the controllers on the network.

    Chapter 3: Configuration Adjustable Parameters You can set the following parameters for each actuated slide gate: • Enable – Enables the slide gate to operate in Auto or Manual mode. • Disable – Disables the gate from operating. • Auto – Auto mode will automatically switch the open slide gate based on proximity switch inputs. The user sets up a feed line, tying several actuators together, and the system will always keep one slide gate open if at least one of the proximity switches senses feed.

    Chapter 3: Configuration Initial Setup for Manual Mode After powering on the controller, “No slides” will be displayed on the LCD screen. You need to set the parameters for each slide gate. Manual mode does not use proximity switches. Manual mode works with only direct input from the user, Open or Close.

  • Page 22 Chapter 4: Operation Service Mode Service mode is only available at the local Slide Gate Controller (FLX-5416) and can not be controlled by a remote site controller when in this mode. Service mode is generally used when initially setting up the system or to troubleshoot a blockage.

    Chapter 4: Operation Calibration 1. During a calibration, the controller will slide the gate open until it no longer moves (no sensor signals indicating movement). 2. The controller will then close the gate and count the number of positions until it reaches the closed position (no sensor signals).

    Slide Gate Operation using the Site Controller (FLX-5419) 1. This control is generally located in a control house and can control up to eight local controllers (FLX-5416) on the bins. The home screen will display all the slides gates that are connected, flashing each one as it rotates through them.
