Operation

  1. Press the switch butt on.
  2. It will show the following figure at the display.
  3. Choose where to measure the temperature: oral, axillary or rectal.
  4. A beep tone will sound when the highest temperature is reached.
  1. Oral use:

Put the tip of the thermometer under the tongue in a thermal zone like shown in the figure. Keep it in the positi on until the bip goes off.

The reading at the display will keep going up and the symbol "oC" will keep blinking during the measuring process.
When it gets to the highest temperature measured, the symbol "oC" will stop blinking. After the last reading save the temperature and turn off the thermometer by pressing the switch button.

Keep the mouth closed during the process to avoid any infl uence from outside temperature.

  1. Axillary use:
    Put the tip of the thermometer at the armpit contacting the skin. Keep the thermometer parallel with the person's body and put the arm over the breast (this makes the sensor to be protected from outside air). Keep it in this position for 60 seconds. After that the procedure will be the same as above for oral use.
  2. Rectal use:
    This should be used when oral or axillary measuring is inconvenient. It is not recommended for children. Put the tip of the thermometer at the rectum not more than 1 cm. Keep it in this positi on for 60 seconds. After that the procedure will be the same as above for oral use.

Precautions, special care and doubts about the possible risk when using the product, and special care with storage and transportation too.

Recommendations for Use

  • Do not try to sterilize the thermometer with heat or boiling water.
  • Change the old battery and throw it away conveniently.
  • Avoid any exposure of the thermometer at high temperature, dust, humidity, excessive light and sunlight.
  • During the measuring process the person will be sitting or lying and the thermometer will be hold by hand.
  • The temperature must be measured by an adult.
  • If the temperature is out of the range it will show "Lo" or "Hi" when it is below 32oC or over 42,9oC.
  • If you need to measure the temperature again turn it off and follow the instructions.
  • Measurement timing can vary and sometimes be longer because of room temperature considering colder rooms using air-conditioning apparatus.
  • In some people the oral measurement may take longer than 60 seconds, especially after eating or drinking cold beverage or any other factor that may delay the point of stabilization.
  • The normal body temperature is between 36,1oC and 37,2oC. Normally our temperature is lower during the day. In order to know your normal temperature measure the temperature at night and in the morning during a few days.
  • Always keep the device in a cool dry place.
  • Always keep the device in its case to protect the probe and to avoid contamination.

warning Attention warning
The temperature measured through the rectum can be up to 0,5oC higher than the temperature measured orally and the temperature measured by armpit could be 0,5oC higher than the oral temperature.

How to clean the thermometer

The thermometer probe can be cleaned with water and soap or a mixture of alcohol / propane (70%). Never deep the product in liquids and do not sterilize it. The contact with the liquids at the electronic components will provoke a short circuit and damage the thermometer.

Changing the battery

Change the battery when the display shows this symbol . Use battery type LR41 or equivalent. To change the battery remove the battery cover from the thermometer and using a small "philips" screwdriver remove the battery. Place a new battery with the positive (+) side up. Put the screw back and the battery cover in its place again. It is advisable to change the battery at a shop where the tools are adequate to avoid any damage to the product.

Warranty

  1. This thermometer is guaranteed during 6 months from the date of purchase and this warranty is effective only by presenting the RECEIPT OF PURCHASE stating the buyer's name, date of purchase, name and address of the distributor.
  2. The guarantee does not cover the battery, the cost of round-trip transport for repairs, the result of damage caused by improper use of thermometer, and other expenses not specified here.
  3. The guarantee is valid only where this product is officially commercialized.
  4. During the guarantee the product will be repaired in 30 days from the date of arrival of the product.
  5. This company reserves the right to replace the defective thermometer by a new one if it is necessary.
  6. All repairs executed during the guarantee do not extend the deadline of the guarantee.
  7. When the guarantee expires the necessary components and technical assistance will be kept during 5 years in order to offer paid-services to users.
  8. All services of maintenance and consumed components by improper use even during the guarantee period will be charged.
  9. This guarantee and technical assistance are restricted to the Brazilian territory.
  10. This thermometer loses its guarantee by improper handling, direct exposure to sunlight or to extreme temperatures or damages by dropping down, etc. The battery and the defects or other damages caused by improper use are excluded from the guarantee.
  11. If the thermometer is not functioning properly, first verify the battery before contacting the Customer Service Center.

Our Technical Assistance Dept is centralized in the city of São Paulo and the defective product, within the warranty period, should be sent for repair by sedex. This postage cost will be refunded to the customer through postal order when the product is returned by mail.
