OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

Read these instructions carefully before using the unit, and keep them for future reference.

  • Improper usage of the coffee maker can lead to its damage, cause material loss and injury to persons.
  • Power cord is equipped with a euro plug; insert it into the socket, with secure grounding.
  • In order to avoid risk of fire do not use adapters while connecting the appliance to the outlet.
  • Do not use the unit outdoors.
  • Do not touch the unit with wet hands.
  • In order to avoid risk of electric shock and damaging of the unit, use only the accessories supplied with the unit.
    Make sure that the mains voltage corresponds to the voltage specified on the housing of the unit before switching the unit.
  • Place the unit on a stable dry surface. Do not place it on heated surfaces or near heat sources (electric stove etc.), near curtains and hanging shelves.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces of the unit in order to avoid getting burns.
  • Do not allow children to use the unit without supervision.
  • Do not switch on the empty unit.
  • Use only cold water for making coffee.
  • Switch on the unit only with the flask.
  • Do not leave the operating appliance unattended.
  • Always switch off and unplug the unit if it is not being used.
  • Do not immerse the unit or the power cord into water or other liquids.
  • Provide that the power cord does not touch sharp edges and hot surfaces.
  • Always switch off and unplug the unit if it is not being used or before cleaning.
  • Taking the plug out of the socket, do not pull by the cord, hold by the plug.
  • Before making each new portion of coffee, switch off the unit at least for 5 minutes in order to let the unit cool down.
  • Use the flask only for its purpose; do not place it on the gas, electrical stoves or in the microwave ovens.
  • Do not use the unit if the power cord or the plug is damaged, if the unit fell or in case of other damages. If there are some damages in the unit apply to the authorized service center.
  • This unit is not intended for usage by children or disabled persons unless they are given all the necessary instructions on safety measures and information about danger, which can be caused by improper usage of the unit.
  • Do not allow children to use the unit as a toy.
  • The unit is intended for household use only.

PREPARATIONS BEFORE OPERATION

  • Unpack the unit.
  • Before making coffee, perform 2-3 cycle of brewing, using only water, without adding coffee to the filter.
  • Open the lid (1) and fill the tank with water, turn the steam pipe (2) until bumping to the left, set the flask (7) on the platform (8), inset the plug into the socket and switch on the unit, setting the power switch (6) to the "I" position.
  • When no water is left in the water tank, switch off the unit, setting the power switch (6) to the "0" position.
  • Let the unit cool down for 5 minutes and pour out water from the flask (7).

Repeat the procedure for 2-3 times. The unit is ready to operate.

MAKING COFFEE

Coffee making process consists in passing of hot water under steam pressure through ground coffee. This gives a unique flavor and strong taste to the coffee. Taste of the ready coffee depends on the quality of the original product that is why we recommend usage of well-down and freshly ground beans.

  1. Open the water tank lid (1) and fill it with water to the required level.
  2. Insert the filter (3) into the holder (4).
  3. Use the measuring spoon (9) to add necessary amount of ground coffee into the filter (3), level out coffee but not ram.
  4. Turn the steam pipe (2) until bumping to the left, close the lid (1).
  5. Set the flask (7) on the platform (8).
  6. Insert the plug into the socket.
  7. Switch on the unit, setting the switch (6) to the "I" position, the light indication will light up, the unit will start operating
  8. When all water passed through the filter, switch off the unit, setting the switch (6) to the "0" position.
  9. To keep coffee hot, leave the flask (7) on the platform (8), without switching off the unit.

Attention!

  • When you do not need to heat up the flask (7), switch off the unit, setting the switch (6) to the "0" position.
  • Before removing the filter (3) or the holder (4), turn the steam pipe (2) until bumping to the right.
  • To remove the filter holder (4), slightly press the anti drip valve of the filter holder from the lower part (4) and remove the holder moving it upwards.

CLEAN AND CARE

  • Always unplug the unit before clean-ing.
  • Let the unit cool down completely and wipe the outer surfaces with dry soft cloth.
  • Use soft detergents to remove dirt; do not use metal brushes and abrasives.
  • Wash all removable parts with hot water with a detergent, rinse, wipe dry and put on the place.
  • Do not immerse the coffee maker into water or other liquids.
  • Do not put the coffee maker in a dish wash machine.

SCALE REMOVAL

  • Clean the unit from scale regularly.
  • To remove scale use the recommend-ed substances and follow the instructions on the packages.
  • After scale removal, wash the unit thoroughly. Fill the water tank with water; switch on the unit without adding coffee. Repeat this procedure several times.
  • Remove scale at least once in 4-5 months.

STORAGE

  • Before taking the unit away for stor-age, make sure that it is unplugged and cooed down completely.
  • Keep the unit in a dry cool place.

A production date of the item is indicated in the serial number on the technical data plate. A serial number is an eleven-unit number, with the first four figures indicating the production date. For example, serial number 0606ххххххх means that the item was manufactured in June (the sixth month) 2006.
