The settings and user information for the device are maintained and modified in the KnoxConnect Cloud software. After initial set up in KnoxConnect, the device is synced using the Knox Device Sync pc app, after which firmware and PIN updates will be received automatically when the device connects to the department network. The unit also collects an audit trail that records MedVault access transactions, including the user, date, time and event description, among other data.

MedVaults are assigned to a jurisdiction upon shipment. Before use, the device must be configured in KnoxConnect. The Knox Device Sync app is then used to pass the configurations to each device via USB. The device is designed to be continuously powered and to have constant or intermittent connection to a network via WiFi, through a router or hotspot, or via Ethernet.
For Security purposes, the manual override key is shipped separate from the unit. If you do not receive your manual override key, contact Knox immediately. There is a coin cell battery included on the MedVault circuit board to maintain the internal clock date and time, which is required for KnoxConnect SSL and EAP authentication.

1. Open the door with a PIN code or turn off power to the unit and open the door with the override key. 2. Use a screwdriver to remove the wire access panel. 3. Resetting the Device • MedVault 2.5 no longer requires a hardware reset. To reset the MedVault, press and hold the ‘#’ (enter) key for 5 seconds. Release after the display shows “MV-INIT” and keypad backlight briefly flashes off and on.
