Introduction The Builders Trestle(s) you have just purchased was supplied by Dermot Redmond Engineering of Bunclody, Co Wexford. Provided the instructions for the operation and maintenance of the trestle are followed, it will work perfectly for many years. The trestle handrail system has been designed in compliance with the Working at Height Regulations and has been fully tested in accordance with: BS1139 Part 4 1982. - Page 4 Take 2 men at a combined weight of 200kg working of this platform and allow for 4no. 63mm scaffolding boards (8ft x 9’’) at approx. 20kg each. This gives a total weight of 1160kg. You will need to calculate the number of trestles needed as per your working load.

Maintenance The Builders Trestle is designed to incorporate low maintenance, but the following points should be taken note of: • All parts of the trestle should be checked before use to ensure nothing is worn or damaged and to ensure nothing has become bent or damaged over time or during transport. -

Assembly Instructions 1. Set up standard trestles at required centres in the required position. The working load required will dictate the centres. 2. Place standard 4m x 225mm x 38mm scaffold boards to form rear platform. 3. Place standard 4m x 225mm x 38mm scaffold boards on top of the scaffold board nearest the front of the platform... - Page 7 4. For end gates place handrail post onto top of end trestle (both sides) and secure to trestle using pin and clip attached to handrail post. You can then fix gate to handrail post by dropping hinges into sockets on handrail posts.

General Notes For use with all standards trestles with flat top rails to 40mm deep. Always ensure that trestles are set up on a level even base and no boards overhang by more than 150mm. Only use standard 230mm x 38mm scaffold boards for handrail and toe boards.
