5. TOOL SETTINGS
5.1.
NAVIGATION CHARACTERS
Characters used to help navigate the code reader are: I) "► " -- Indicates current selection.
"Pd" -- Identifies a pending OTC when viewing DTCs.
"$" -- Identifies the control module number from which the data is retrieved.
5.2.
SETUP
To enter the setup menu
From the second start up screen, press Scroll button to enter System Setup menu. Follow the instructions to make adjustments
and settings as described in the following setup options.
5.3.
LANGUAGE:
Select desired language.
English is the factory default setting.
From language screen select language required.
5.4.
UNIT OF MEASURE:
Select desired measurement unit.
Metric is the factory default setting.
From measurement screen select measurement unit required (metric or imperial).
5.5.
CONTRAST:
Select desired measurement unit.
Use Scroll button to adjust contrast
To Exit press enter/exit button to return to previous menu.
6. CODE READING
6.1.
Use Scroll button to select Read Codes from Diagnostic Menu and press ENTER/EXIT button.
6.2.
If more than one module is detected, you will be prompted to select a module before test.
6.3.
Use Scroll button to select a module, and press ENTER/EXIT button.
7. DIAGNOSTIC MENU
7.1.
If more than one module is detected, you will be prompted to select a module before test.
7.2.
Use the Scroll button to select a module, and press ENTER/EXIT button ..
7.3.
Wait a few seconds while the code reader validates the PIO MAP.
7.4.
If the vehicle supports both types of tests, then both types shows on the screen for selection.
7.5.
READ CODES:
Use Scroll button to select Read Codes from Diagnostic. Menu and press ENTER/EXIT button.
You can read codes Erase codes View freeze frame or check I/M readiness in this mode.
View the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) for the engine or transmission system and display their
standard definitions.
7.6.
ERASE CODES:
Clears all the DTC's in the system.
