MAINTENANCE

Crazing (cracking) of lenses will cause reduced effectiveness of the light. Do
not use cleaning agents (which will cause crazing) such as strong
detergents, solvents, or petroleum products. If crazing of lenses does occur,
reliability of light for emergency signaling purposes may be reduced until
lenses are replaced.
Clean the dome with a non-abrasive, high quality, automotive paste cleaner/wax and a
soft cloth.
If it becomes necessary to replace the dome, refer to Chart 1 for the
replacement dome part numbers.
On magnetic mount lights, periodically inspect the magnet for dirt and metal shavings.
Clean the magnet as necessary. Keep the area around the magnetic mount light free of
dirt and metal shavings.

LAMP REPLACEMENT

See figure 1. Press the retaining latch (located on the rear of the light) with the blade of
a flat blade screwdriver, and lift the dome away from the base.
Forced rotation of the light mechanism will cause damage to the worm gear.
ALWAYS rotate the light mechanism by rotating the motor shaft.
Rotate the reflector of the C-clip (located at the base of the lamp) can be removed, and
remove the C-clip by sliding it away from the reflector.
See figure 2.
Note the lamp's orientation and replace the lamp (Federal Part No.
8440A265) with the straight edge of the lamp's base toward the reflector.
Reassemble the light.
