Before first use

  1. Remove any labels and/or swing tickets.
  2. Pull the Storage Clip to remove from the Mixer Body . Wash the Beaters and Dough Hooks and with liquid detergent and warm water, rinse and dry. These parts are dishwasher safe.
  3. Wipe the outside of the Mixer Body with a cloth dampened slightly with liquid detergent and warm water, then dry with a dry cloth.
  • DO NOT IMMERSE ANY PART OF THE MIXER BODY IN WATER.

Inserting the Beating attachments

  1. Set the OFF/Speed Selector Switch to the "0" (OFF) position and unplug the Mains Plug .
  2. Insert the first of the Beaters into either Attachment Receptacle on the underside of the Mixer Body . Rotate the attachment until it clicks into place, then push home.
  3. Repeat step 2 with the second Beater .

Inserting the Dough Hooks

  1. Set the OFF/Speed Selector Switch to the "0" (OFF) position and unplug the Mains Plug .
  2. Insert the Dough Hook with Collar into the Right Hand Attachment Receptacle on the underside of the Mixer Body . Rotate the attachment until it clicks into place, then push home.
  3. Insert the Dough Hook without Collar into the Left Hand Attachment Receptacleon the underside of the Mixer Body . Rotate the attachment until it clicks into place, then push home.

How to use

  1. Follow the instructions for inserting the required mixing attachments (above).
  2. Place the ingredients to be mixed into a bowl or other suitable container.
  3. Ensure that the OFF/Speed Selector Switch is set to the "0" (OFF) position.
  4. Plug the Mains Plug into a mains socket.
  5. Lower the mixing attachments until they are well covered by the ingredients to be mixed and move the OFF/Speed Selector Switch to the required speed setting of "1" to "6" to mix the ingredients according to your recipe.
  • It is recommended to start mixing at the lowest speed and gradually increase the speed, if required.
  • Do not use any utensils such as knives, forks or spoons in the bowl and do not reach into the bowl when the mixer is in use. Do not allow the Mixer Body to come into contact with the ingredients.
  • The Turbo Button may be used to increase the mixer speed for short intervals.
  • Do not operate the Mixer for more that 5 minutes continuously at a time, after which a 20-minute cooling period should be allowed.
  1. When mixing is completed, return the OFF/Speed Selector Switch to the "0" (OFF) position and unplug the Mains Plug .
  • If necessary, when the mixer is off you may scrape any excess food mix from the mixing attachments with a wooden or plastic spatula.
  1. Grasp the mixing attachments with one hand, close to the Mixer Body , to avoid getting food mix on your hand. Press the Eject Button with your other hand, to release the mixing attachments for cleaning.
  • The Eject Button cannot be operated unless the OFF/Speed Selector Switch is in the "0" (OFF) position; this is a safety feature. Do not attempt to pull mixing attachments out of their receptacles.

Mixing Tips

  • Do not over mix beyond the recommended times in your recipe.
  • Fold in dry ingredients at the lowest speed, until only just combined.
  • Refrigerated ingredients, such as butter, cheese and eggs, should be allowed to reach room temperature before mixing.
  • An approximate guide to the function of the speed settings is given in the following table:

Cleaning

  1. Always return the OFF/Speed Selector Switch to the "0" (OFF) position and unplug the Mains Plug before cleaning.
  2. Wash the mixing attachments with liquid detergent and warm water, rinse and dry. These parts are dishwasher safe.
  3. Wipe the outside of the Mixer Body and the Mains Lead with a cloth dampened slightly with liquid detergent and warm water, then dry with a dry cloth.
  • DO NOT IMMERSE ANY PART OF THE MIXER BODY IN WATER.
  1. When all parts are dry, push fit the Storage Clip to attach to the underside of the Mixer Body and use to safely store attachments .

Cautions

  • Before using the Hand Mixer, the following basic precautions should always be followed:
  • Read all instructions before use.
  • Ensure that your home electrical supply corresponds to the requirements of the appliance - see "Specifications".
  • Always check that the control is OFF before connecting the Hand Mixer plug into a mains socket.
  • Do not connect the Mains Plug into a mains socket, or use the appliance, if your hands or the appliance are wet.
  • To disconnect, turn the control to OFF, then remove plug from the mains socket.
  • Unplug from mains socket while not in use, before changing accessories or approaching parts which move in use.
  • The Mains Lead should be positioned so as not to cause an obstruction or to overhang the edge of the surface, where it could accidentally be snagged or pulled by children.
  • Never leave the unit unattended when it is operating.
  • DO NOT IMMERSE ANY PART OF THE HAND MIXER IN WATER.
  • Should the Hand Mixer accidentally fall into water, unplug immediately and do not use; contact Judge Customer Services at the address given in the warranty section.
  • Do not switch on or attempt to operate the Hand Mixer if it appears to be faulty in any way. Never attempt to make any repair to the Hand Mixer yourself - contact Judge Customer Services at the address given in the warranty section.
  • Do not place the Hand Mixer or Mains Lead close to a heat source.
  • Pull the plug (do not pull Mains Lead) to disconnect from mains socket.
  • Do not pull the Mains Lead to move the Hand Mixer.
  • It is not recommended that the Hand Mixer be used with an extension lead.
  • This Hand Mixer is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or a separate remote-control system.
  • Do not use the Hand Mixer outdoors.
  • This Hand Mixer is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience or knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the Hand Mixer by a person responsible for their safety. Always keep the Hand Mixer out of the reach of children less than 8 years.
  • Children shall not play with the Hand Mixer.
  • The Hand Mixer can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the Hand Mixer in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
  • Never eject beaters or dough hooks when the Hand Mixer is in operation.
  • Avoid contacting with moving parts.
  • Keep hands, clothing, as well as spatulas and other utensils away from beaters during operation to reduce the risk of injury to persons, and/or damage to the mixer.
  • The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock or injury
  • The appliance should be used only as instructed and for the purpose for which it was intended; there is potential for injury or damage from misuse.
  • Do not use the appliance to mix liquids other than foodstuffs.
  • Unplug from the mains socket before cleaning.
  • Remove beaters from mixer before washing.
  • Please retain these instructions and your purchase receipt.
