GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The configuration interface PRODAT-04 allows to program, by dedicated software, all the DATEXEL devices of the SMART and SLIM series using both fixed
workstations and laptops with communication serial ports RS-232 on board.
An internal battery is available for the eventual supply of the transmitter on programming; the battery's output voltage is provided on the connector J4; the same
voltage is used to power the interface when the output voltage of the serial port is lower of the minimum voltage value necessary to the right working of the
device (± 7Vdc).
The 1500 Vac galvanic isolation between the lines of input/power supply and output is obtained by means of opto-couplers on the data lines and a DC/DC
converter on the power supply.
By the dedicated cable (CVPR-03) it is possible to configure the Intrinsically Safe devices.
With the PRODAT-04 are provided the standard cable CVP or the cable CVPR-03, the CD-ROM containing the drivers to install the programming software and
two Jack connectors for the terminals J3 and J4.
The configuration interface PRODAT-04 is in compliance with the Directive 2004/108/EC on the Electromagnetic Compatibility.
USER INSTRUCTIONS
A) Use with Standard devices.
The device on programming must be always powered as shown on its technical data-sheet.
The interface PRODAT-04 must be connected to the serial port RS-232 by pin-to-pin cable to the connector J1 ; connect the ' CVP ' cable from the connector J2
to the PRGM connector of the device on programming.
It is also possible to power the device on programming using the internal battery (only for transmitters) connecting the connector J4 to power supply terminal of
the transmitter.
B) Use with Intrinsically Safe devices.
The device on programming must be always connected in according to the Safety Specifications reported on the technical data-sheet of the device .
The configurable devices are the following:
- DAT 1010 IS , DAT 1010 IS/HT;
- DAT 1015 IS , DAT 1015 IS/HT;
- DAT 1065 IS , DAT 1065 IS/HT;
- DAT 2015 IS , DAT 2015 IS/HT;
- DAT 4035 IS , DAT 4035 IS/HT.
