    Assembly WARNING! Do not install the battery pack before it has been completely assembled. Always use gloves when handling the chain. Unpacking Remove all packing materials and shipping devices, if applicable. 2. Unpack all parts and lay them on a flat and stable surface. 3.
  • Page 23 CAUTION: If the saw chain is TOO LOOSE or TOO TIGHT, the V-drive wheel, chain bar, chain and crank shaft bearing will suffer premature wear. Below Fig. shows the correct tension A (when cold) and tension B (when warm). Fig. C shows a chain that is too loose.

    Saw Chain Tension Adjustment Remove the battery pack and wear the protective gloves. 2. Place the chainsaw on any suitable flat surface. 3. Adjust the chain tension, turn the tension wheel clockwise to tighten. Tighten Loosen Filling oil tank WARNING! The product is not filled with oil. It is essential to fill the product with oil before using it! Never operate the product without chain oil or with an empty oil tank, as this will result in extensive damage to the product!

    Charging the battery WARNING! The charger and battery pack are specifically designed to work together, so do not attempt to use any other devices. Never insert or allow metallic objects into your charger or battery pack connections; an electrical failure and hazard will occur.
  • Page 26 Important charging notes Longest life and best performance can be obtained if the battery pack is charged when the air temperature is between 18-24°C. Do not charge the battery pack in a very low or very high air temperature. This is important and will prevent serious damage to the battery pack.

    WARNING! Never attempt to open the battery pack for any reason. If the plastic housing of the battery pack breaks or cracks, return it to a service centre for recycling; do not put it into further use. Removing or installing the battery pack WARNING! Always release the on/off trigger before insertion or removal of the battery pack.

    Operation Starting the chainsaw Installing the battery pack Keep the battery pack in line with the holder on the device. 2. Push it forward until it reaches the bottom. Before starting, make sure the battery pack is firmly locked in place. Removing the battery from the product Press the battery pack lock button downward.
  • Page 29 Limbing a tree Limbing is removing the branches from a fallen tree. When limbing, leave larger lower limbs to support the log off the ground. Remove the small limbs in one cut, as illustrated below. Branches under tension should be cut from the bottom up to avoid binding the chainsaw.
  • Page 30 Bucking a log is cutting a log into sections. Make sure your footing is firm. Keep feet apart. Divide your weight evenly on both feet. When possible, raise the log or section off the ground. Do this by using limbs, logs, chocks, etc. When cutting through the log, maintain control by reducing the cutting pressure near the end of the cut.

    Maintenance Preventative maintenance CAUTION: Place the switch in the OFF position and remove the battery pack before the appliance is serviced, cleaned, or maintenance is performed. Keep the air intake clean and air vents free of debris to avoid overheating the motor. 2.
  • Page 32 CAUTION: Failure to lubricate the guide bar sprocket tip, as explained below, will result in poor performance and seizure, voiding the warranty. Lubrication of the sprocket tip is recommended after each saw use. Always thoroughly clean the guide bar sprocket tip before lubrication. To lubricate sprocket tip: WARNING! Wear heavy-duty work gloves when performing this application to reduce risk of personal injury.
  • Page 33 Guide bar maintenance Most guide bar problems can be prevented merely by keeping the chainsaw well maintained. Incorrect filing and non-uniform cutter and depth gauge settings cause most guide bar problems, primarily resulting in uneven bar wear. As the bar wears unevenly, the rails widen, which may cause chain clatter and difficulty in making straight cuts.
  • Page 34 What is a low kickback saw chain? A low kickback saw chain is a chain which has met the kickback performance requirements of ISO 9518. By keeping and saw chain in good working condition and correctly serviced as recommended in this manual, you will be able to maintain the safety system of your chainsaw over the life of the product.
  • Page 35 Replace the chain IMPORTANT: Do not clamp chainsaw in a vise to replace the saw chain or guide bar. Replace the chain when the cutters are too worn to sharpen or when the chain breaks. Only use replacement chain noted in this manual. Always include new drive sprocket when replacing the chain.
