    There is an integrated compensation tank for mechanical suppression of moving artefacts. The METRONIK BL-6 is ideally suited for stress measurements with treadmill or bicycle ergometers. The cuff is designed as a one-tube-system, even though it contains a double tube. That means one tube is used for apply the air into the cuff, the other tube includes the microphone cable.

    Instruction manual rev. 5.3 METRONIK BL-6 4.2.1 Positioning the microphone: Position of microphone marker label at the inner side of upper arm between m.Biceps and m.Triceps. The microphone must perfectly be in contact with the body, possibly over thin sleeves. The elbow must be completely free.

If the sleeve cover is no longer usable as a result of contamination, material fatigue or wearing down, it can be changed separately, the other components can still be used.

In case Korotkov sounds are detected within the first seconds, the METRONIK BL-6 will start the pump again and will further inflate the cuff to reach a peak pressure that is 30 mmHg above the preselected initial pressure value.

    5.1 Special functions Measurement Mode: With METRONIK BL-6 there are three measurement modes: - normal: inflate, consistent deflation rate during measuring - fast: inflate, consistent deflation up to detecting systolic value, after the fourth pulse fast deflation to a predefined pressure value (standard value: 120mmHg), afterwards the diastolic value will be measured.
  • Page 15 Activated SENS is displayed by the word ‘SENS’. With this profile the sensitivity of the microphone amplifier will be increased. In sensitivity mode (SENS), the METRONIK BL-6 is considerably more susceptible to all kind of sounds that might occur during the application. Hence, even fairly quiet Korotkov sounds can be measured automatically.

This is the pressure to which the cuff will be inflated once the measurement is started. Use the UP / Down Buttons for changing the initial pressure by increments of 10 mmHg.

    Instruction manual rev. 5.3 METRONIK BL-6 6.3. Interval Measurement Menu With interval measurement the device can start automatically in time intervals. So BP readings can be done synchronized to the examination order without the need of connection to an external PC.

    Before cleaning, disconnect the power supply from the monitor. Wipe the device with a soft, damp cloth to remove the surface from dust and dirt. The METRONIK BL-6 must not be sterilized or autoclaved. Do not immerse the monitor in any fluid. Do not clean with any liquid detergents, cleaning agents, or solvents.

    There are no side effects known. Return of old equipment: If you intend to discontinue use of the METRONIK BL-6 blood pressure monitor for various reasons, the manufacturer is required by law to take back old appliances (ElektroG law of 13 August 2005).

    The cuff connection is type BF for original METRONIK cuffs 10.2. Declaration of guarantee The METRONIK BL-6 is covered against any material defects which may occur. This is a two year warranty starting by the date of purchase. The guarantee doesn’t cover improper use, external forces and wear parts like the cuff.
