    1. BEFORE USING START-UP PROCEDURE Follow the procedure below to start test run or start operation of this product.     HOME SCREEN The following screen is displayed on the LCD display after turning on the power switch for the freezer. This screen is called as “Home screen” and shows basic information about the status of the freezer. It will take about 20 seconds before the Home screen is displayed after turning on the power switch.

SECURITY MODE SETTING SECURITY MODE Introduction to the security mode This product can provide enhanced security when the operation mode called as “security mode” is set to “ON.” In the security mode: 1). The outer door can be automatically locked by the electric lock system. It can be unlocked using the face recognition function , passwords, or NFC authentication (when the optional NFC reader is installed).

    3. SECURITY MODE Setting the security mode to ON Note: You cannot use the screen lock function (see page 62) and the security mode at a time. Before setting the security mode to ON, tun off the screen lock. Tap the Settings button in the sidebar menu and tap the Display button, and then slide the Screen Lock button to the left to turn off the screen lock function in the Display screen.

    3. SECURITY MODE Setting the security mode to OFF To set the security mode to OFF, you must log in to the freezer as an administrator role. Tap the Settings button in the sidebar menu. ►The Settings screen is displayed. Tap the Security Settings button on the Settings screen.

    ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT BY ADMINISTRATOR To use the freezer in the security mode, user accounts must be created to register users as administrators (Admin) or general users (User). As described on pages 27 and 28, the first user account (administrator) is created during the steps of setting the security mode to ON.

    ACCOUNT OPERATION BY GENERAL USER General users (User) can view and change their own user account information and register their image for face recognition function and an IC card/NFC device to be used for NFC authentication (when the optional NFC reader is installed). These operation can be performed while the security mode is set to ON and they are logged in to their account.

Important When you try to register an image to be used for the face recognition function for the first time, the consent form for the registration is displayed (not displayed for the second and subsequent time).

    ELECTRIC LOCK AND LOGIN/LOGOUT About electric lock Electric lock is a function that automatically locks the outer door after the door is closed (the outer door needs to be firmly closed by pushing the outer door handle towards the cabinet side to engage its latch). This function becomes active when the security mode is set to ON (refer to pages 27 and 28), making the stored samples safer.

SETTINGS AND OPERATION SETTING FOR BASIC OPERATION Setting temperature and high/low alarms The chamber temperature, high temperature alarm, and low temperature alarm can be set by following the steps below.     SCREEN LOCK Screen lock is a function to avoid unauthorized changes to the settings of the freezer when the access to the freezer is not restricted by the security mode (page 26). When the screen lock is set to ON, if you try to tap the Settings button or the Import/Export button, you are asked to enter a password.

    EVENT LOG This product is provided with a function to store event log data such as alarm messages. ● Log data type: Alarm messages, notice messages, outer door status, login/logout, settings, acknowledge, boot, and alarm test. ● Up to 40,000 logs can be stored. When the number of logs exceeds the maximum number, the oldest log data is overwritten with the new data.
