Sollte sich der Assistent nicht von
selbst öffnen, so gehen Sie wie folgt
vor:
• Starten Sie den Geräte-Manager
(z. B. unter Windows 2000:
Systemsteuerung -> System ->
Karteikarte Hardware -> Button
Geräte-Manager... )
• Doppelklicken Sie auf das neue
USB-Gerät usb serial converter .
• Wechseln Sie auf die Karteikarte
Treiber und klicken Sie auf
Treiber aktualisieren...
Der Assistent zum Installieren und
Aktualisieren von Gerätetreibern
öffnet sich. Gehen Sie zur Installati-
on der beiden Treiber vor wie unter
[1] und [2] beschrieben.
Konfiguration und
Abschluss
• Rufen Sie den Geräte-Manager
auf (z. B. unter Windows 2000:
Systemsteuerung -> System ->
Karteikarte Hardware -> Button
Geräte-Manager... ) und klicken
Sie im Listenfeld auf Anschlüsse
(COM und LPT) . Sehen Sie nach,
welche Schnittstelle der Adapter
belegt (siehe Eintrag USB Serial
Port (COM < port-nummer>) ) .
• Um dem Adapter einen anderen
Port zuzuweisen doppelklicken
Sie auf USB Serial Port
(COM < port-nummer>) und
wechseln Sie auf die Karteikarte
Port Settings . Klicken Sie auf
den Button Advanced... und
wählen Sie aus der Liste den
gewünschten COM Port. Bestäti-
gen Sie Ihre Änderung und
verlassen Sie den Geräte-Mana-
ger.
• Programmieren Sie den Zugriff
auf die PSS oder das PNOZmulti
nun so, dass diese den konfigu-
rierten COM Port verwenden.
Betrieb
Während der PC läuft, nicht den
Adapter abziehen und wieder
aufstecken. Sonst kann sich die
Schnittstellenbelegung des PC
ändern und die Verbindung zur PSS
bzw. zum PNOZmulti kann nicht
mehr hergestellt werden.
If the wizard does not open
automatically, proceed as follows:
• Start the Device Manager (e. g.

tab -> Device Manager... button )
• Double-click on the new USB
device usb serial converter .
• Switch to the Driver tab and click
Update Driver...
The wizard for installing and
updating device drivers opens. To
install the two drivers proceed as
described in [1] and [2].
Configuration and
completion
• Call up the Device Manager (e.
g. under Windows 2000: Control
Panel -> System -> Hardware
tab -> Device Manager... button)
and click Ports (COM and LPT)
in the list field. Check which port
the adapter is using (see
entry USB Serial Port (COM < port
number>) .
• To assign a different port to the
adapter double-click USB Serial
Port (COM < port number>) and
switch to the Port Settings tab.
Click the Advanced... button and
select the required COM port.
Confirm the change and exit the
Device Manager.
• Program access to the PSS or
PNOZmulti so that they use the
configured COM Port.
Operation
Do not remove the adapter and
reinsert it while the PC is running.
Should you do this, the interface
assignment on the PC may change
and it will no longer be possible to
establish a connection to the PSS
or PNOZmulti.

Effectuez l'installation des deux
pilotes comme indiqué aux points
[1] et [2].
Si l'assistant ne s'ouvre pas
automatiquement, procédez comme
suit :
• Démarrez le Gestionnaire de
périphériques (par ex. sous
Windows 2000 : Panneau de
configuration -> Système ->
Onglet Matériel -> Bouton
Gestionnaire de périphériques... ).
• Faites un double-clic sur le
nouveau périphérique USB usb
serial converter .
• Passez sur l'onglet Pilote et cliquez
sur Mettre à jour le pilote...
L'assistant permettant d'installer et
de mettre à jour les pilotes de
périphérique s'ouvre. Effectuez
l'installation des deux pilotes
comme indiqué aux points [1] et [2].
Configuration et
conclusion
• Appelez le Gestionnaire de
périphériques (par ex. sous
Windows 2000 : Panneau de
configuration -> Système ->
Onglet Matériel -> Bouton
Gestionnaire de périphériques... )
puis cliquez dans la liste sur
Ports (COM et LPT) . Vérifiez
quel port est occupé par
l'adaptateur (voir l'entrée USB
Serial Port (COM<numéro de
port>) ).
• Afin d'attribuer un autre port à
l'adaptateur, faites un double-clic
sur USB Serial Port (COM
< numéro de port>) puis passez
sur l'onglet Paramètres du port .
Cliquez sur le bouton Avancé... et
sélectionnez dans la liste le port
COM désiré. Confirmez les
modifications puis quittez le
gestionnaire de périphériques.
• Configurez maintenant l'accès au
PSS ou au PNOZmulti de sorte
que ceux-ci utilisent le port COM
configuré.
Utilisation
Lorsque le PC fonctionne, ne
débranchez ni ne rebranchez
l'adaptateur. Cette opération
pourrait modifier l'affectation des
interfaces du PC et empêcher la
connexion au PSS ou au
PNOZmulti.
