  • Page 20: Medical Network Statement

Medical Network Statement Network + Medical = Medical Network The MEDNET product is not a medical product! But it adds network capabilities to the SCHWIND medical products: a “Medical Network” is realised. To avoid individual safety evaluation, all mandatory regulatory requirements and approvals are already included in the MEDNET product itself for all explicitly specified setups and system combinations listed in “4.3 Valid System Combinations with SCHWIND Medical Devices”!
  • Page 21: Mandatory Prerequisites

The operator/client/clinic requires a responsible IT (IT Admin) for typical administrative IT subjects. The MEDNET product is engineered to provide even persons with “basic IT” skills the ability to fulfil that role! The network infrastructure remains in the responsibility of the client/clinic/institute! The operator must carry out all typical IT administration activities by himself.
  • Page 22: Process: Planning → Installation → First Operation

Process: Planning → Installation → First Operation In cooperation with the clinic, SCHWIND is responsible for planning, installation and proper first use to achieve a safe, secured, reliable and compliant MEDNET eco- system. The procedure is standardized, very quick, easy and economically effective! A) SCHWIND authorized service personnel plan the network together with responsible IT personnel of the clinic.

As an option, PCs or devices inside an attached clinic network can access the fileserver (treatment log files, treatment projects,..) for reading the content for own purpose processing.
  • Page 25: Infrastructure Type: "Dedicated Private Lan Network

This is the default and easiest set up! The LAN cables have to be prepared for use exclusively for the SCHWIND devices only in the dedicated “MEDNET network”. NON-SCHWIND DEVICES / CLINIC PC DEVICES OR HARDWARE IS NOT ALLOWED WITHING THE MEDNET (SUB-)NETWORK.
