While both technologies use inverters to convert power to run appliances, gasoline generators may be rated for a specific load, 1500 watts, for example, and should provide power to appliances for that rated amount. Solar inverters, by contrast, provide power up to rated inverter load. This means your unit may provide less power than the inverter’s capability. -
