PRODUCT CONCEPT

Emergency eyewash and shower units are
designed to rinse contaminants from the user'
s eyes, face or body. As such, these units are
forms of first aid equipment to be used in the
event of an accident. However, they are not a
substitute for primary protective devices (inclu-
ding eye and face protection and protective clo-
thing) or for safety procedures when handling
hazardous materials. A227361 Wall Mounted
Eye Wash main material is 304 stainless steel.
It is equipped with 304 stainless steel eye wash
bowl and 304 stainless steel eye wash nozzle.
Can customize ABS eye wash bowl and ABS eye
wash nozzle according to the request.

TRAINING

Simply installing emergency equipment is not
sufficient means of ensuring worker safety. It is
also very important that employees are trained in
the location and proper use of emergency equip-
ment. Research shows that after an incident has
occurred, rinsing eyes within the first ten seconds
is essential. Therefore, employees at the highest
risk of damaging their eyes in each department
must be trained regularly. All employees must
know the location of the emergency equipment
and be aware that quick and effective rinsing is
important in an emergency.
• The sooner the injured employee' s eyes are
rinsed, the lower the risk of damage. Every
second is important when preventing per-
manent damage to save time for medical
treatment.
• All employees must be reminded that this
equipment is only to be used in emergen-
cies, tampering with the equipment may
cause a malfunction. In emergencies, the
afflicted may be unable to open their eyes.
Employees may feel pain, anxiousness and
loss. They may need others' help to reach the
equipment and use it.
• Push the handle to spray the liquid.
• When liquid sprays, put the injured employee'
s left hand on the left nozzle, and the right
hand on the right nozzle.

• Put the injured employee' s head over the eye
wash bowl which is hand controlled.
• When rinsing the eyes, use both hands'
thumb and index finger to open the eyelids,
rinsing for at least 15 minutes.
• After rinsing, seek medical treatment
immediately
• Security and supervisory personnel must be
notified that the equipment has been used.

MAINTENANCE

There should be professional staff to take charge
of the emergency equipment and do as follows:
• Regularly check the valve, pipe, eye wash
nozzle and bowl.
• Clear the obstructions around the equipment.
• Empty the liquid from the equipment once
a week if the equipment is not used for a
long time in order to avoid harming the eyes
again.
In winter, the emergency equipment must be
protected from freezing.
Avoid sudden changes in the equipment' s envi-
ronment to prevent damage and possible malfu-
nction. Around the emergency equipment there
should be adequate lighting so that people can
find the equipment in the dark. If necessary, the
equipment should be equipped with a warning
device, so that other employees can help in an
emergency.

PRODUCTCONCEPT
Noodoogdouche- en -douche-units zijn ontwor-
pen voor het wegspoelen van verontreinigingen
uit de ogen, het gezicht of van het lichaam van
de gebruiker. Deze units zijn feitelijk vormen van
EHBO-materiaal, te gebruiken bij een ongeval.
Ze zijn echter geen vervanging voor primaire
beschermuitrusting (inclusief oog- en gezichts-
bescherming en beschermende kleding) of
voor veiligheidsprocedures bij het omgaan met
gevaarlijke stoffen. Het hoofdmateriaal van oog-
douche A227361 met wandbevestiging is roest-
vrij staal 304. De douche is uitgerust met een
oogwaskom en een oogdouchekop van roestvrij
staal 304. De oogwaskom en de oogdouchekop
kunnen op verzoek van ABS worden gemaakt.

TRAINING
Het alleen installeren van noodapparatuur is
onvoldoende om de veiligheid van de werkne-
mers te garanderen. Het is ook zeer belangrijk
dat medewerkers worden opgeleid in de locatie
en het juiste gebruik van de noodapparatuur.
Uit onderzoek blijkt dat het na een incident
essentieel is om de ogen binnen de eerste tien
seconden te spoelen. Daarom moeten werkne-
mers van elke afdeling met het hoogste risico op
oogbeschadiging regelmatig worden getraind.
Alle werknemers moeten op de hoogte zijn van
de locatie van de noodapparatuur en zich ervan
bewust zijn dat snel en effectief spoelen in geval
van nood belangrijk is.
• Hoe eerder de ogen van de gewonde werkne-
mer worden uitgespoeld, hoe kleiner de kans
op beschadiging. Elke seconde telt bij het
voorkomen van blijvende schade om tijd te
besparen voor medische behandeling.
• Alle medewerkers moeten eraan worden her-
innerd dat deze apparatuur alleen mag wor-
den gebruikt in noodsituaties en dat geknoei
met de apparatuur een defect kan veroor-
zaken. In noodgevallen kan het slachtoffer
mogelijk zijn of haar ogen niet openen. Werk-
nemers kunnen pijn, angst en verlies voelen.
Ze hebben wellicht de hulp van anderen nodig

• Druk de hendel in om de vloeistof te sproeien.
• Bij vloeibare sprays plaatst u de linkerhand
van de gewonde werknemer op de linkerkop
en de rechterhand op de rechterkop.
• Plaats het hoofd van de gewonde werknemer
boven de oogwaskom, die met de hand wordt
bediend.
• Tijdens het spoelen van de ogen gebruikt u
de duim en wijsvinger van beide handen om
de oogleden te openen, terwijl u gedurende
minimaal 15 minuten spoelt.
• Na het spoelen dient u direct medische hulp
in te schakelen
• Beveiligingspersoneel en toezichthoudend
personeel moeten op de hoogte worden
gesteld dat de apparatuur is gebruikt.
ONDERHOUD
Er moeten professionele medewerkers aanwezig
zijn die de verantwoordelijkheid hebben over de
noodapparatuur en zij moeten als volgt te werk
gaan:
• Regelmatig de klep, buis, oogdouchekop en
waskom controleren.
• De obstakels rond de apparatuur verwijderen.
• De vloeistof eens per week uit de apparatuur
gieten indien de apparatuur gedurende lan-
gere tijd niet wordt gebruikt om te vermijden
dat opnieuw oogschade ontstaat.
In de winter moet de noodapparatuur worden
beschermd tegen vorst.
Vermijd plotselinge veranderingen in de omge-
ving van de apparatuur om schade en mogelijke
defecten te voorkomen. Rondom de noodap-
paratuur moet voldoende verlichting zijn zodat
medewerkers deze in het donker kunnen vin-
den. Indien nodig moet de apparatuur worden
uitgerust met een waarschuwingssysteem, zodat
andere werknemers in geval van nood kunnen
assisteren.
