384kHz at 32-bit resolution and DSD up to 24.576MHz (Octuple-rate / DSD512). S82 Mark II offers MQA full unfolding up to 384 KHz. s82 Mark II features a build-in Roon Core. It will work with the built-in streaming DAC and It can also stream audio to other network players on you your home network.
Asynchronous USB is a two-way communication method between a computer and an external DAC. s82 Mark II controls the rate at which audio data is transmitted over USB. Rather than being sent as a continuous stream, as is the case with standard USB audio interfaces, the data is sent in packets. If a streaming error is detected, the faulty packet is retransmitted.

Volume Down Mute Your s82 Mark II is pre-programmed to work with the supplied remote control. It can also be re- programmed to work with most infrared remote controls using Sony and NEC IR protocols, for example the Sony RM-EZ4 Universal Remote.
Before making a connection make sure that your audio amplifiers are powered down. • RCA Line Outputs - Connect the RCA line outputs of the s82 Mark II to the amplifier line inputs. • XLR Line Outputs - Connect the XLR line outputs of the s82 Mark II to the amplifier line inputs.
Trigger Output When the s82 Mark II is on, a 12 VDC signal is sent from the trigger output to control other devices. When the s82 Mark II is placed in standby mode or power saving mode, the trigger signal is discontinued.
Using Third-Party Power Supplies s82 Mark II comes with a universal power supply that has been tested to comply with the s82 Mark II’s quality requirements and allows for very high performance. If you use third-party power supplies, the specifications marked on the back of the s82 Mark II power sockets must be observed.
Roon delivers metadata for the user’s library and frees the user from the complexities of library management. s82 Mark II is certified as a Roon Tested DAC and Roon Ready network player. Roon Ready is the highest level of Roon integration and means that Roon technology is customized and embedded for achieving best user experience.

With the Audio Input buttons on the Web and Windows Dashboards • With the exaSound Icon menu on Mac. Note: When the USB input is active, the CBL and OPT inputs are not available. First select the LAN input and then click CBL or OPT.
4. Go to the Product Tab and tap the Check for Updates button. 5. If a new firmware version is available, Tap Update. 6. You will see a progress indicator. Don't interrupt the power to the s82 Mark II during the update or your device may become unusable.
Mark II. Wi-Fi Configuration 1. Navigate your web browser to the s82 Mark II Web User Interface. By default the address is s82.local Open the gear icon on the Main Menu and select the Network Settings page.

4. Locate the Wi-Fi network that you need to connect to and tap on the icon to the right. 5. Enter the password if you are connecting to a secured network. The s82 Mark II supports WPA2-PSK (AES) security mode.
Note that if you use an IP address to connect your Web browser to the s82 Mark II, the browser won't be able to reconnect automatically. In this case you will need to manually enter the new IP address for the s82 Mark II in the navigation bar of the Web browser.
Ethernet Connection with Manual IP Address Navigate your web browser to the s82 Mark II Web Interface. Open the menu and select the Network page. By default the s82 Mark II will use the wired network connection - Ethernet. You can use the Reset button to re-initialize the network connection. This is useful when the settings on your router are changed or in case the connection is lost.
Resetting the Network Connection to Factory Defaults In case you are unable to connect to the exaSound s82 Mark II over the home network you can reset the networking settings to the factory defaults: 1. Locate the Reset button on the back plate.
The Internal Storage tab displays information about the size of the music libraries stored on the s82 Mark II internal SSD drive. Make sure that there always is at least 20% free space on the s82 Mark II internal SSD drive.

Web Streaming via HDMI (experimental feature) Power Saving Mode Timeout The s82 Mark II can enter power-saving mode after a period of inactivity. You can use the DAC Power Off Timeout tab to set the time-out period. The power savings slider is located on the General Settings page.
Turn off the Automatic switch to enable manual control. Advanced Settings - SPDIF and TOSLINK Lock The SPDIF and TOSLINK inputs are configured by default to provide optimal sonic fidelity. If you experience interruptions, dropouts or lock issues with input sources that may exhibit high jitter, increase the values until you achieve a stable connection.
Advanced Settings - DAC Reset and Line Outputs control DAC Reset and Line Outputs control settings are available from the Settings Menu. DAC Reset and Line Output Settings customize the behavior of the ES9038PRO DAC chip and the output stages when playback transitions from track to track. Depend on the player application and the power amplifier that you are using you may need to adjust these setting to eliminate intermittent soft clicks between tracks.
Volume Control for LAN, SPDIF and Optical Inputs There are two pages for volume control. A Simplified volume control page is available by clicking or tapping the three-sliders button on the Main Menu. Advanced volume control page is available from the Settings Menu. In addition to volume control and channel trimming, it allows for saving and reloading volume configuration presets.

UPnP Tab on the General Settings page When an USB drive is attached for the first time to the s82 Mark II, or when music files are added or removed, you have to update the UPnP library. From the web user interface, go to the General Settings page and on the UPnP Music Library tab click the Update button.
CD Ripping The CD Ripping feature makes it easy to rip audio CDs and to use the ripped files with Roon. It relies on Roon for metadata availability and accuracy. Advanced users interested to maintain control over the steps of the ripping process and the metadata quality of will obtain best results by using third-party manual ripping applications on Mac and Windows computers.
