With the supplied AC adaptor (for use with a standard wall outlet) or the 12V car cord, you can quickly charge your Lithium Ion digital camera batteries safely and effective- ly at home or in the car.

- Page 4 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Power the DC 3000 Connect the AC Adaptor (G) plug to the Power Input Jack (A). Plug the AC Adaptor into any standard household outlet (see figure 2a). The red Power Indicator (C) will turn on. To use in a car, connect the 12V DC Car Cord (H) plug to the Power Input jack (A).

MOUNTING THE BATTERY Warning: For use with Lithium Ion batteries ONLY. DO NOT use with Nickel Cadmium (NiCd) or Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries. Align the contacts on your battery with the appropriate contacts on the charger. Follow the guides on your battery and the charger to slide the battery into place in the charging bay (E). - Page 6 Figure 4a Figure 4b Before installing the battery onto the plate, check the polarity signs (+ and -) on the battery. Locate the alignment guide and polarity positions on the Universal Adapter Plate (F) for the battery you are going to charge. Pull the sliding grip at the lower side of the plate out.

At this point, the battery can be removed for use. It is recommended, however, that you leave the battery connected to the DC 3000 for another 30 minutes to ensure a full, or "topped off", charge. DEFECTIVE BATTERY DETECTION The charger has built-in defective battery detection sensors. - Page 9 DO NOT use the DC 3000 inside a drawer or closed cabinet, or cover with a cloth. The DC 3000 will become slightly warm in use but, if con- tained, the heat may damage the DC 3000 and/or battery pack.

Maxell Corporation of America warrants this product to the original purchaser against defects in material and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of purchase. Maxell will, at its option, repair or replace the defective product at no cost to you during the warranty period. The war- ranty will not apply if the unit has been subject to accident, misuse, abuse, disassembly, alteration or opened contrary to the instructions contained in the accompanying manual.
