Connecting Sound Pad to a Controller

Please note: Sound Pad is compatible only with controllers with a 3.5mm audio port.

  • Begin set up with a fully-charged Sound Pad.
  • Connect Sound Pad to the bottom of the controller.
  • Carefully ensure that the device is fully attached.

Using Sound Pad

  • Power ON the Sound Pad and the controller.
  • Adjust the volume on the Sound Pad as desired. Please note: Excessively loud sounds can damage speakers.
  • If needed, adjust the audio/mic settings through the console user interface.
  • Sound Pad may be used with or without a wired headset.
  • Press the desired button to send a sound effect through a party chat.
  • 11 sound effects buttons are provided on the Sound Pad.
  • To cancel audio playback, press the bottom right button marked with an X. The X button will stop any sound effect currently playing.

Note: Additional audio settings through the console interface may be required.

To Remove Sound Pad from a Controller

  • Grip both the controller with one hand and Sound Pad with the other.
  • Use gentle pressure to pull the Sound Pad away from the controller.

Customizing Audio

Please note: A computer is needed for this process. Additional sound effects are not included.

  • Before changing any audio files on Sound Pad, save the original sound effects to your computer or storage device.
  • Once you have an audio file chosen, it's time to prepare the file for Sound Pad.
  • We suggest setting up a new folder on a computer to store and set up new files before transferring them to Sound Pad.
  • Save or export audio files to MP3 using a high-compression rate to keep file sizes low. File size: Sound Pad has a maximum storage of 8mb.
  • Rename new audio files using the preexisting structure (e.g., sound01.mp3, sound02.mp3, sound03.mp3, etc). Please note: The file names must be renamed according to the preexisting structure. If files are not renamed properly, the file will not be recognized.
  • Once the audio files are properly named and optimized, connect Sound Pad to a computer using the micro-USB cable included.
  • Replace the existing audio file with the new custom MP3 file.
  • To check if audio files are loaded correctly, connect a wired headset or earbuds with a 3.5mm audio port on the Sound Pad.
  • Press the desired button to confirm function.
  • When audio files are completely setup, properly eject/disconnect the Sound Pad from your computer. Be sure not to remove Sound Pad and cable until properly removed and confirmation is provided.

Troubleshooting

Q1: My custom audio files are not playing.
A1: Begin with a fully-charged Sound Pad and controller. Connect the Sound Pad to a computer, verifying files are properly named. Check to make sure the audio files are properly formatted and have a high-compression rate with a small file size.

Q2: I have a headset connected but my party and I don't hear the sound effect.
A2: Check the console interface that the audio/mic function is set up at the proper levels. Check volume levels on the Sound Pad.

Q3: There are 12 buttons, but I can only add 11 sound effects.
A3: Only 11 sound effects can be added to Sound Pad. Although there are 12 buttons, one button is a playback cancel button. This button can be helpful if a sound effect is selected and you wish to stop playback.
