Optical Image Stabilizer

This mode recognizes and compensates
jitter. You can reduce blurring caused by
jitter especially when you take pictures with
the optical zoom set to Tele or when you
take pictures indoors where the shutter
speed is slowed down.
1 Press and hold the optical image
stabilizer button A until
[STABILIZER] appears and then
select the stabilizer function
mode.

Recording pictures (basic)
∫ Demonstration of the optical image
When you press the [MENU] button, the
demonstration appears. After the
demonstration ends, the screen returns to
the stabilizer function mode selection
menu. If you want to exit the demonstration
halfway through, press the [MENU] button
again.
While the demonstration is displayed, the
optical zoom is fixed to Wide (1k) and the
zoom function cannot be activated.
Moreover, you cannot take pictures.
• The stabilizer function may not work
• In simple mode [

sufficiently in the following cases.
– When too much jitter occurs.
– In digital zoom range.
– When taking pictures while following
subjects in motion.
– When the shutter speed is extremely
slow due to dark conditions or other
reasons.
Be careful of jittering when pressing the
shutter button.
