PREPARATION
• INSTALLING BATTERIES
Two AAA-size (UM-4) batteries are required. Alkaline batteries

• TURNING ALARM ON/OFF

appears when alarm is turned on.

• RECORDING MESSAGES
1. Press REC to start recording. Various information of the message
being recorded are shown and updated automatically.
2. Press REC again to stop recording.
Note:
• Press MENU during the recording process to display the
available capacity.
• When the number of messages reaches 99 or the 16 minutes
recording time available in a folder is used up, "FULL" is shown.
You may continue recording with the other folder.
• When VOX is turned on, the unit pauses recording when no
voice is detected for 2 seconds. Recording is resumed as soon
as voice is detected again.

• ADJUSTING VOLUME
Turn the VOL dial to adjust the output volume of the speaker and
earphone to the desired level.
• CONNECTING EARPHONE
Plug-in an earphone (not included) with a 3.5mm mini-plug to listen
to recorded messages privately. The built-in speaker is disabled
automatically.
Warning:
• To protect your hearing:
1. Set the volume to the lowest setting before you begin listening
and adjust the volume to a comfortable level eventually.
2. Do not listen at extremely high volume levels or you risk to
lose hearing permanently.
3. Once you set the volume, do not increase it. Your ears adapt
to higher volumes over time. So, a volume level that does
not cause discomfort might still damage your hearing.
• To protect others:
1. Do not wear earphones while operating a motor vehicle or
riding a bicycle. This lead to traffic accident and may be
illegal in some area.
• CONNECTING EXTERNAL MICROPHONE
Plug-in a microphone (not included) with a 3.5mm mini-plug to
extend the recording range. The built-in microphone is disabled
automatically.
• RESETTING THE UNIT
Press RESET to return all settings to default values.
Note:
• Use only a blunt stylus to press RESET.
• You may need to reset the unit if it is not function properly.
• Recorded messages are not erased after reset.
NOTICE:
The product might not function properly in case of electrostatic
discharge. In that case, resetting (by pressing the RESET button)
is required to bring it back to normal.
Warning:
• You may need to perform a full reset if the unit does not function
properly even after reset. To perform a full reset, press and hold
ERASE when RESET is pressed.
• Recorded messages in both folders are erased after full reset
