IMPORTANT: Please read and understand these instructions before use
Before use, a detailed risk assessment must be carried out by a competent person to establish that this is the correct
product suitable for the type of work to be carried out, taking into account anchor points, potential fall distance,
obstructions, rescue system, etc.
Attaching the RGK26 range of products.
Ensure that a suitable anchor point is selected and is
compatible with the RGK26.
Ensure there are no sharp edges.
Ensure that the RGK26 is securely fixed to the
anchor point (1). Other recommended methods of
attachment are also shown (2 & 3).
Ensure that it is not possible for the RGK26 to slide
down a structure such as a vertical beam (4).
It is recommended that the sling is fixed to a
shackle or area with limited movement (5 & 6),
which prevents the sling from moving away from its
position in the event of a fall. A sling which is able
to slide whilst under load is potentially dangerous
as the fibres could cut due to friction and abrasion.
The RGK26 is usually attached to a suitable anchor
point with the addition of a compatible connector
(EN 362) as shown.
GENERAL GUIDE
1.
The intended purpose of this product is to use as a fall arrest anchor device (EN 795). Never use for any other
purpose other than that for which it is intended, and never use as a lifting sling.
2.
Before use, a detailed risk assessment must be carried out by a competent person to establish that this is the correct
product suitable for the type of work to be carried out, taking into account anchor points, potential fall distance,
obstructions, rescue system, etc.
3.
Users are warned that certain medical conditions such as heart disease, high blood pressure, vertigo, epilepsy, drug
or alcohol dependence, could affect the safety of the user in normal and emergency use.
4.
This equipment must only be used by suitably trained personnel who are competent in its safe use.
5.
Ensure before use that there is a suitable rescue plan to enable the retrieval of the user to a place of safety in the
event of a fall.
6.
Never attempt to modify or repair this product.
7.
Before every use, the user must be suitably qualified to carry out a pre-use check (see section on inspection).
8.
The maximum value of deflection and displacement occurring during use will be less than 5% of the sling length.
9.
It is recommended to mark the sling with the date of the next or last inspection with a suitable tag. Do not write
directly onto the sling.
10. When used as part of a fall arrest system, the user shall be equipped with suitable equipment to limit the peak force
in the event of a fall to a maximum of 6kN.
11. This product is recommended for personal issue, and is for use by a single user only.
12. Ensure that any harness (EN 361, 813) and safety lines (EN 354, 355, 360) used with this equipment are suitably
CE approved and compatible with this product.
13. Also be aware of any possible dangers, which may arise through use of combinations of items of equipment in which
the safe function of any one item is affected by or interferes with the safe function of another.
14. It is essential for safety that the equipment is withdrawn from use immediately should:
a) any doubt arise about its condition for safe use or if the equipment shows excessive wear or damage to any part or
b) it has been used to arrest a fall, and not used again until confirmed in writing by a competent person that it is
acceptable to do so.
15. Ensure that all anchor points and devices are compatible with this equipment and they have a strength of at least
18kN.
16. Either the rear or front harness D ring of a safety harness are acceptable attachment points. Never use work
positioning D rings as attachment points for fall arrest.
17. In order the reduce the potential fall distance, ensure that the equipment anchor point is as high as possible above
the user. Never work above the anchor point.
18. A full body harness is the only acceptable device that may be used to arrest a fall.
19. Ensure there is sufficient clearance below the user, so that in the event of a fall, there will be no collision with the
ground or other obstacle in the fall path. In particular, allow for elongation of energy absorbers.
20. This equipment is suitable for use in normal atmospheric conditions (-20°C to +50°C).
21. To prolong the life of the product it is essential to keep the product clean and away for dirt. Avoid impact, sharp
edges or abrasive surfaces, contact with strong acids or alkali, solvents, chemicals, excessive heat and/or sparks, UV
exposure, etc.
MATERIALS
The textile sling material and sewing thread is either nylon, polyester, or UHMWPE.
STORAGE, TRANSPORTATION & CLEANING
1.
Ensure that when the sling is not in use or during transportation, it is suitably stored in a clean, dry area and away
from direct source of heat or sunlight, or any potentially sharp or abrasive objects such as knives or tools.
2.
If the sling gets wet, in use or after cleaning allow it to dry naturally.

The equipment must be totally replaced after a maximum of 10 years, from the date of manufacture as shown on
the product label.
INSPECTION
Webbing or Rope - check for cuts, tears, abrasion, scorch marks, burns, chemical attack or severely discoloured patches.
Local abrasion, distinct from general wear is often caused by passage of the webbing over sharp and/or abrasive edges, and
may cause serious loss of strength. Slight damage to outer fibres may be considered safe, however serious reduction or
