It produces a long wave infrared radiation which is invisible for the human eye and is very similar to the warmth of the sun. For reptiles, this is a comfortable warmth, and the heat mats can be employed very flexible. Due to the radiation of heat, they can also be installed at the top of the terrarium, or at the sides.
