1. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 1.1. GENERELL INFORMATION In order to achieve a stable voltage supply even under heavy loads, a lithium battery is an ideal replacement for a lead-acid battery. In addition to the extremely high weight advantage, it also offers enormous energy reserves. Due to the integrated BMS (battery management system), lithium batteries are suitable for 12V / 24V DC applications. An increase of capacity by using additional Liontron LiFePo4 batteries can be easily done. Lithium-iron-phosphate batteries are the safest of the regular lithium batteriy types. The nominal voltage of a LiFePO4 cell is 3.2V. Therefore one 12,8V LiFePO4 battery consists of four cells in serial connection. The current flowing through a LiFePO4 cell is nearly zero when it is fully charged. Less charged cells will not be fully charged for this reason. Over time, the differnce between individual cells can become extreme high, so some cells will fail due to over- or under voltage, even if the overall voltage of the battery is within limits. This is why active cell balancing is built into all of our LiFePO4 batteries. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS OF A BMS ARE: - Protection of cells against undervoltage by switching off the load in time. - Protection of cells against overvoltage by reducing charging current or rather switching off the charging process. - Shuttoff the system in case of overtemperature. - Charging of the battery is stopped in case of undertemperature. LIONTRON Smart BMS App 1.5. LIONTRON APP - INSTALLATION AND CONNECTION 1.INSTALLATION Scan the QR-Code on the left. Alternatively, you can install the app via Google Play Store or App Store or enter the following link in the internet browser of your smartphone: https://liontron.de/app Bluetooth App Download https://liontron.de/smartbms 2. CONNECTION Open the app after successful installation. When using the app for the first time, it is necessary to allow permission to use location as well to active bluetooth. Press „Allow“ or „Ok“ as soon as the corresponding meassage appears on your smartphone. -

2. SAFETY GUIDELINES AND MEASURES 2.1. INTENDED USE PLEASE FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS AND KEEP THEM NEAR TO THE LITHIUM LIFEPO4 BATTERY FOR FUTURE REFERENCE. The battery may only be used for the purposes described in the operating instructions. Use for any other purpose is considered improper use and will invalidade the product warranty. The manufacturer is not liable for any damage caused by incorrect, improper or inappropriate use of the product. -

2.5. IMPORTANT NOTES ▪ Do not open the LiFePO4 battery without consulting the dealer. Unauthorized opening of the battery will avaoid the manufacturer‘s warranty. ▪ Use the battery only for the application it is intended for. ▪ Do not short-circuit the LiFePO4 battery. The cable connections to the loads must be protected by a fuse. ▪ Installation and maintenance may only be carried out by qualified personnel. ▪ Do not expose to direct sunlight permanently. Protect from the effects of heat. Temperatures above +60 °C can damage the battery. ▪ Only use compatible chargers. The battery must be disconnected from all devices when stored for a longer priod. ▪ Avoid damage of any kind, e.g. by dropping, drilling or similar. (risk of short circuit). ▪ Always keep the battery dry and clean. ▪ Note the plus (+) and minus (-) markings on the LiFePO4 battery and the device and make sure the polarity is correct. ▪ The cycle capacity may differ from the nominal capacity due to the change of the working temperture and the charge and discharge rate. ▪ Only suitable for parallel connection. Serial connection is not permitted. Load the batteries to the same state ogf charge before interconnecting. Batteries from different manufacturers or of different types should not ne interconnected. 3. INSTALLATION OF BATTERY Make absolutely sure that the LiFePO4 battery is not connected with reversed polarity. If the battery is connected incorrectly, the BMS electronics will be irreparably damaged and must be replaced with a new BMS board. This is not a warranty case. 3.1. CHECK After receiving the LiFePo4 battery, check whether the device has been damaged externally in any way, e.g. by transport. If this is the case, do not operate the device and contact the seller. 3.2. 3.4. INSTALLATION POSITION / CONDITIONS Lithium LiFePo4 batteries are heavy. Make sure that they are properly and securely fastened and always use the appropriate transport equipment. In case of an accident, unsecured batteries could become a projectile! Always handle lithium batteries with care. NOTE: BATTERIES CAN BE INSTALLED IN UPRIGHT AND ALSO IN LYING POSITION. -

A CONNECTION VIA BLUETOOTH DOES NOT WORK. For a connection to the battery, you require the LIONTRON app. A direct connection via the bluetooth menu of your smartphone is not possible. THE BATTERY DOES NOT APPEAR IN THE LIST OF AVAILABLE DEVICES IN THE APP. A battery can only be connected to one smartphone at a time. If the battery does not appear in the list of available devices in the app, make sure that no other device is already connected to the battery. Also, make sure that bluetooth is turned on.
