What does humidity setting "over-cooling amount" mean and why is my humidity at 68% indoors when my dehumidify set point is at 50%

@Janine Palombo I have the same issue. Also, if the dehumidifier is on then the system will never go to a high level and always remain running on low cool but I have my humidity set to 40% and it’s at 49% right now and not going down whatsoever. Only when the A/C kicks on but it never takes it to the level I have it set at. Did you figure anything out?

Why when I test it against two other hydrogemeter in my house right next to It, the thermostat is 3 degrees lower than the actual temp in my house and the humidity is also off by 3%. This explains why it’s so freakin hot in my house when the temp goes up. How do I recalibrate this and fix it??

When I set temperature ,say at 72degrees AC turns on until it reaches 72 . It then shuts off but when temperature rises it doesn't come back on and it seems to reset itself to a higher 77degrees. What am I doing wrong?

The Ruud Smart Thermostat may reset to a higher temperature of 77 degrees instead of maintaining the set 72 degrees due to a few possible reasons based on the context:

1. Programmable Schedule: The thermostat has a programmed schedule that may override the manual setting. If the schedule is set to 77 degrees at a certain time, it can reset to that temperature automatically.

2. One-Touch Energy Savings Mode: If activated, this mode may override the set temperature to save energy, potentially resetting it to 77 degrees.

3. WiFi and Remote Access: The thermostat has built-in WiFi, allowing remote changes. A user or automation may have changed the temperature remotely.

To fix this, review and adjust the programmed schedule and check if energy-saving mode is enabled. Also confirm no remote changes are being made via the app or connected devices.

To change the Ruud Smart Thermostat from furnace (heating) to cool mode:

1. Tap the system mode icon on the screen.
2. Select "Cool" mode.
3. Adjust the cooling set point by tapping the temperature on the right (it will turn blue).
4. Use the plus or minus buttons to set the desired cooling temperature.

The system will activate cooling when the current temperature rises above the set point.

To raise the humidity level on a Ruud Smart Thermostat:

1. Go to Menu > Settings > Humidity > Humidification.
2. Enable Humidification.
3. Set the Humidification Set Point to your desired indoor relative humidity (between 15% and 45%).
4. Select the modes (Heating, Cooling, or Continuous Fan) during which humidification should occur.

Note: You cannot set humidity above the dehumidification set point.
