OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL WATER FILTRATION SYSTEM Site Preparation Locate where the main water line enters your home. Define the most convenient location to install the unit. In cold climate conditions, install inside a protected area, or risk freezing and rupturing during winter time with severe damage to the system. -

OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL WATER FILTRATION SYSTEM OPERATION & MAINTENANCE For best results with your GS series unit, make sure to follow the regular operating and maintenance procedures. Remember that like any other equipment, correct operation and service is extremely important. - Page 13 Using the special tool provided, open the blue filter sump. Make sure to have a recipient on the bottom, to prevent water from spilling on floor. o Replace cartridge in the sump, using a new GALENE cartridge. For best seal, replace o-rings on sump and apply silicon ointment (such as Dupont Molykote, 111 Compound).

GALENE shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages. GALENE’s total warranty liability is limited to the repair or replacement of the goods and GALENE’s discretion. I have a gs series galena filter system and forget the expiation of the back wash procedure. I know how to turn the top tank valve but what place do I use for the in/out valve. Open for inlet or open for filter system
To properly set the inlet and outlet valves for backwashing the Galene GS Series filter system:
1. Ensure the solvent cement is dry and settled before turning on the water.
2. Position the valves on item #1 to the “BACKWASH” position as illustrated in Figure 5.
3. Confirm that there is salt in the brine tank.
4. Press the backwash button on the electric valve 5000SE.
5. Ensure that water flows out of the polyethylene drain.
This process ensures proper backwashing of the softener filter.
