- Page 14 Paw Handling You need to get your pet used to having his/her paws touched handled before introducing the nail grinder. Massage the paw gently and touch the nails while offering your pet treats. Repeat this exercise a few times daily until your pet shows no resistance.

When your pet start to feel comfortable with the nail grinder turned on, try holding the grinder near your pet’s paw. Do not do any actual grinding yet.
